Scottish developer Realtime Worlds has recently regained the global distribution rights to its own MMOG, APB. Previously publisher Webzen held the rights to publish the game, but during the second round of financial funding Realtime Worlds has taken it back.
The move follows Realtime Worlds' recent US$50 million second round funding and provides the company with the independence to push creative boundaries in the development of the game and to take a more active role in managing APB's global distribution strategy.

"Owning the distribution rights to APB marks a major milestone in Realtime Worlds' evolution into a premier online entertainment company," said David Jones, founder and CEO, Realtime Worlds.
We reported earlier this week on the first official in-game screenshot from APB and expect to see the first inklings of gameplay in or around the time of Los Angeles' E3 show next month. An official statement from Realtime Worlds mentions that the game is an original MMOG for the PC, yet makes no mention of an Xbox 360 version.

Much like this young lady, Realtime Worlds is fully in control.

Bryn says: Is it odd that they only reference the PC and not 360? MMOGs traditionally have some form of subscription model attached and as we all know past console MMORPGs that charge money to play generally don't perform very well.

We need to hang out and wait for hard details regarding a sub model for APB. I'm hoping I'll be able to hang out on Xbox Live, play APB, and not have to pay above and beyond my Live Gold sub for the privilege.
