We've all heard the rumors regarding Microsoft's supposed new motion-based controller, but now, according to an early report over on CNN, it's got a name: Xbox Fluid. The article doesn't commit 100 percent to the controller's existence, but reckons that Xbox Fluid is going to debut at the impending Microsoft E3 press conference, which is scheduled to kick off less than one hour from now.
Industry experts say Microsoft is expected Monday to unveil new motion-tracking technology, called Xbox Fluid, that will let gamers use their bodies to act out what their characters do in a video game.

The device sounds similar to Nintendo's popular Wii. But Xbox Fluid is expected to employ a camera that senses a player's body movements so it doesn't require a handheld remote, as the Wii does.
At least we've got a name to work with. Check out IGN's live feed of the MS presser and get the scoop on the Xbox Fluid controller -- maybe. Expect more information to hit GameSpy.com very soon.

Will the Xbox Fluid controller make a splash?

Bryn says: Sounds... interesting. I'm sure that it'll get confirmed at the press briefing, but what I want to know from you is this: Would you be interested in having videogames track your bodily movements and interpret them into gameplay actions?

Is this just a gimmick or does it have potential to make for a great product?
