Publisher 2K Sports today announced the "Football Resurrected" campaign, a multi-platform marketing campaign in support of All-Pro Football 2K8, available on July 17 for Xbox 360 and PS3. The campaign is designed to attract fans of hip-hop and football while celebrating the return of 2K Sports to the virtual football arena.
The "Football Resurrected" campaign began today with a series of online videos featuring hip-hop luminaries sounding off about different aspects of All-Pro Football 2K8. The six two-minute episodes were shot by music video director Maz Makhani.
The first two videos are available for viewing now at www.footballresurrected.com. The first video, "Rice Returns" features Rakim, recognized as one of hip-hop's greatest MCs and a pioneer of the industry who shot to stardom as one half of Eric B. and Rakim. His lyrics accompany gameplay footage of Jerry Rice, a homage to the man many consider the greatest wide receiver of all time.
The second video, "Give Me Real Football," features Chali 2Na of Jurassic 5 and formerly of Ozomatli. This video offers up a wish list of features for football including fewer referee calls, more late hits and a generally more exciting experience.
