2K Boston

Based in Boston, Massachusetts, 2K Boston became part of the development studio group for 2K Games. Recognizing the exceptional talent and creative vision that made Irrational Games one of the industry's premier developers, 2K Games fostered the studio's growth by substantially investing in its people, allowing Irrational Games/2K Boston to almost double in size since the studio's acquisition by 2K in 2005.

The company formerly known as Irrational Games was renamed 2K Boston in August of 2007 (along with its partners at 2K Australia.) The name changes to 2K Boston and 2K Australia symbolized the studios' further integration into the 2K Games family. Despite this intention, the team celebrated its heritage by renaming itself Irrational Games again in January of 2010.
