CD Projekt was established in 1994 by Marcin Iwiński and Michal Kiciński who run the company until now. They were the first to import entertainment software on CD-ROMs onto the Polish Market.
Since 1999 CD Projekt has been the leading distributor of games and multimedia software in Poland supplying directly all major retail chains and independents. It has offices in Poland (Warsaw) and Czech Republic (Prague.)
CD Projekt Red Studio was established in 2002 as an internal videogame development studio for Polish videogame publisher CD Projekt. The vision of CD Projekt Red Studio is to create role playing games that millions of players would love. That means producing computer games with great playability that would also have a great commercial potential. CD Projekt Red Studio benefits from the experience and financial support from publishing part of CD Projekt well known as the best RPG publisher in Poland (all major RPGs were published in Poland by CD Projekt).
