Spellbound

Spellbound Entertainment Inc. was a software development studio based in Germany. Established in 1994 by Armin Gessert,, it was one of the most renowned independent computer and video game developers in Germany. The company possessed strong IPs based on internationally successful titles like The Great Giana Sisters, Airline Tycoon and Desperados. Apart from working on proprietary IPs, Spellbound Entertainment Inc. also garnered a large amount of experience with external IPs.

After decades of development history, the company was forced to declare bankruptcy in 2012. Many of its key staffers emerged from insolvency in July of that same year with a new company under fresh funding and resources called Black Forest Games.
