7 Studios was a console software developer based in Santa Monica. Founded in 1999 by Lewis Peterson and Erik Yeo, the company was named for its 7 founding members, all gaming veterans who have developed some of the most successful titles -- for the most successful developers and publishers -- in the industry.
In April of 2009, 7 Studios was acquired by Activision in order to bolster the company's music division. Unfortunately, a downturn in the business forced Activision to close its doors in February of 2011.
