Quest (Japan)

Established in July, 1988 to make games for Nintendo's Famicom (NES) system, Quest also developed and published games for PCs and other console systems. The Japanese company is best known for its Ogre Battle strategy RPG series for the Super Famicom (which was then ported to multiple platforms) and continued on NeoGeo Pocket, N64 and GBA.

The company took a hit when key members of the development team left and joined Square in 1997, where they created the Tactics Ogre clone Final Fantasy Tactics. But what was once divided became whole again when Square acquired Quest's development assets in early 2000 and reunited the once divided teams under the Square label.
