A tipster at Kotaku has revealed that Capcom will delay Lost Planet 2, Super Street Fighter IV, Dead Rising 2 and the North American debut of Monster Hunter Tri into the company's 2010 fiscal year, which starts April 1st.

The news comes from a forecast revision document that outlines the company's plans to have its titles span the 2010 fiscal year (from April 2010 to March 2011). Reasons for the delay include avoiding competition from the other early 2010 releases, "maximizing sales volume" of Capcom's titles, and as mentioned before, to spread Capcom's releases throughout the 2010 fiscal year.

Capcom gave no specific dates regarding the new release dates for the four delayed games. We'll keep you posted as details come to light.

Tyler says: With the first three months of next year looking like three back-to-back Novembers in terms of big game releases, I'd say Capcom made a smart move pushing its titles back. Although it does seem that something as popular as Super Street Fighter IV could be released just about any time of the year and still sell strongly.

I was really looking forward to Lost Planet 2. Is anyone else here bummed about the delays?
