GameSpy: If you could do the voice of any character in any game, who would it be and why?
Mike Patton: Oh come on, that is easy! I want to be the lead in a future Grand Theft Auto installment. The things you get to say and do are over the top in those games.
GameSpy: How about doing music for a game, is there a dream project there?
Mike Patton: Wow! That would be great. Once again, it would be cool to do a GTA game, or Resident Evil, or Manhunt.
GameSpy: Have you been approached about having a song in Guitar Hero or Rock Band?
Mike Patton: No, I have not. That would be funny. The keyboard player, Bram Inscore in Peeping Tom is indeed a Guitar Hero! I'm not quick enough.
GameSpy: What song of yours -- from any of the bands you've been in or any of the albums you've done -- do you think would work best for one of those games?
Mike Patton: That is a tough question. It would be funny to have a Fant¿mas song, but maybe "Rape This Day" by Tomahawk.

GameSpy: What do you think about the fact that the Guitar Hero games are so popular among musicians?
Mike Patton: Seems a little odd. I would think that for relaxation, a musician would want to do something besides play music. Go save a princess or something, kill a zombie, win the NBA title, catch a monkey, drive a cab, anything but make more music.
GameSpy: Now that it's finished, have you had a chance to play The Darkness? Or at least see it in action?
Mike Patton: No I have not. I really can't wait. I guess I'm going to have to wait 'til the general public plays it, which is ok, because it is at the same time that I get home from touring. So it will be all going to baseball games and playing The Darkness for a month while drinking DeVito Limoncello.
GameSpy: So will you play it, even though you're in it? Hearing yourself as you're trying to shoot someone won't be too weird for you?
Mike Patton: Are you kidding? I'll play it for sure. In surround sound.
GameSpy: Besides The Darkness, do you have other video game work coming up?
Mike Patton: I'm lined up to contribute some sounds/noises to two upcoming games: Left 4 Dead and Portal. Not sure if I was allowed to say that.

But I always have my plate full. Touring with Peeping Tom and working on a new Peeping Tom record. Working on an Italian record under the name Mondo Cane. I will be contributing to a record by Rahzel. Just released a new Tomahawk record. Working on some things with Danny DeVito. Working on things for my record label, Ipecac Recordings.
GameSpy: So when you're not working, what kinds of games do you like to play?
Mike Patton: I'm a sports and action guy. Although puzzlers are good time-killers. NBA and MLB games I play year-round. I love GTA, Manhunt, The Warriors, Bubble Bobble. Really dig my PS3 and PSP. The Wii looks like a lot of fun but have not gotten one yet.
