Jamie Cheng, CEO of Klei, took the stage at the Vegas Showcase and said his studio has been listening to fan feedback on Shank to make Shank 2 bigger and badder in every way. Check the trailer:
"We didn't make another Shank," Cheng said, "we completely ripped the game apart and reconstructed it with better controls and visuals."
Shank 2 will not only feature twice the level of graphical detail and enhanced environments, it will also deliver something fans of the original have been clamoring for: more co-op. In Shank 2's new co-op Survival mode, players will team up locally or online and battle waves of progressively difficult enemies -- earning weapons and upgrades along the way in true Horde mode fashion.
Now in development for Windows PCs, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, Shank 2 is set for release sometime in early 2012.
Spy Guy says: Co-op Survival mode should be a blast in Shank 2, but I think what fans were really looking for in regard to co-op was the ability to opt-in and out of the campaign with a buddy. At least that's what I was hoping for.
