From ShockTillYouDrop.com comes news of a reboot for the "Resident Evil" movies. Paul W.S. Anderson is writing and directing the first film in the new trilogy, "Resident Evil: Afterlife," and it will use the same 3D technology as James Cameron's upcoming film, "Avatar." Returning star Milla Jovovich has been confirmed, but Anderson says he plans to introduce new characters and leave some old ones out. "Resident Evil: Afterlife" is scheduled for a September 2010 release.

Tyler says: Admittedly, I'm not a big horror movie fan, and -- by extension -- nor am I a fan of the "Resident Evil" movies. But as a fan of the games I actually wanted to see the first movie in theaters.

I thought it was terrible. Everything from casting decisions (I can barely stomach Michelle Rodriguez in "Lost," let alone a campy horror film) to the special effects were pedestrian at best. I'm not one to enjoy bad movies just because they're bad, so I hope that with a new direction Anderson can make a film that doesn't fall back on the "it's good because it's bad" excuse.
