Ding Chavez has some new drinking partners. Ubisoft has decided to bless us with new info on the Rainbow team's newest tour of duty, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas. Ubisoft Montreal, the team behind Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield is back at the helm.

Here's what we know so far: Three new characters are available, each with their own unique skill sets. These guys will also pipe in during missions to give you tactical suggestions on how to approach different situations. Other new features include real-time mission briefings and deeper tactical planning. We're not sure if this means that pre-mission planning is back in the game or if there are more tactical options available to you during missions, but the CQB tacticians here hope it's the prior.

Other features include the usual mix of improved graphics, AI, and animations. The Rainbow Six series has gotten considerably more arcade-like with each new iteration, and that's got armchair squad leaders more than a little annoyed. However, now that Ubisoft Montreal is back in the saddle, realism purists can hold on to the possibility that Vegas will bring the series closer to its roots.
