Judging by some of our social networking updates, many of you are wrapping up Metal Gear Solid 4, or are en route to that second playthrough. Even though the game's only been out a week, Konami's already going full speed ahead with downloadable content. According to Konami Online's Brandon Laurino, who made a post on Sony's PlayStation Blog, the publisher will release the MGS4 Database in the PlayStation Store this Thursday.

Like an interactive Wiki, the database is a free downloadable application that tracks the history of the entire Metal Gear saga in one comprehensive program. Whether it's the serpentine storyline of MGS2 or who was that boss with the doo-dads for weapons in that one game, it's all available, which could save dedicated newcomers loads of confusion. Laurino also points out that if you haven't played MGS4 yet, all of the spoilers are blacked out until you've cleared the game, so have no fear about firing it up.

We'll be checking out the database tomorrow as soon as the PlayStation Store updates for the week. If you're looking to brush up on MGS in the meantime, check out our Top MGS Moments series in our MGS4 Countdown Index!
