It's been a week since Killzone 2 levied destruction on the free time of many PS3 owners. With the massive wave of players experiencing Guerilla Games' critically acclaimed first-person shooter, there have been plenty of complaints about Guerilla's control scheme. The weightiness that causes the player to turn slower has come under fire from many gamers, and it appears that some extra refinement is included in an update coming today, as reported on Evil Avatar. There's also a fix resolving the auto-aim shotgun exploit, a big bone of contention among online players.

Sterling says: I can't help but to chuckle at the news of this update. Before the game came out I was a harsh critic of its controls, and when I sat down to play it last weekend I couldn't stop cursing at the TV. Then, sometime around the third stage, it all came together. I wonder if my experience would have been filled with less blue language had I played post-patch. My copy of Killzone 2 is still sitting in my PS3 at home, so I can't download the update and check for myself.

I'm glad to see that there are some multiplayer fixes that clean up exploits like the auto-aim shotgun and a lot of first-week stability issues. I'm pretty busy with some big reviews for next week, but I'm looking forward to jumping into the multiplayer in the coming weeks. Maybe I should host a 'Spy-Hunter session?

Were Killzone 2's controls a deal-breaker for you?
