A rumor kicked off earlier today over on TheSixthAxis which suggested that Guerrilla Games' Killzone 2 would at some stage receive a patch to make it playable with Sony's upcoming "Arc" motion controller technology. VG247 touched base with SCEE PR reps, who immediately balked at the idea.
SCEE has told VG247 there is absolutely "no truth" in the rumour that Killzone 2 is to get a patch for PlayStation Arc support. TheSixthAxis rumoured this morning that the Guerrilla shooter would get upgraded for the motion controller.

"Nope, there's no truth to that whatsoever," said an SCEE rep.
Meanwhile fans are hoping for a four-player co-op patch, while others reckon that the rumored sequel to the game would be the best place to debut motion controller functionality.

Arc patch? Not happening, allegedly.

Bryn says: It is feasible that Sony's just not letting on that Arc compatibility will come to Killzone 2, but I reckon it's way more likely that the next game in the series is where we'll see this happen. Imagine the hassle of having to go back into an already-released game and code up a new control system for the Arc? Also, do shooters really need this kind of support?
