Final Fantasy XIII: Biggest First Week in Franchise History

PS3 News | Mar 19, 2010

More than a handful of critics gave Final Fantasy XIII low marks because it was too linear and lacked the towns that were previously such a big part of the franchise. Gamers were unfazed. According to Square Enix, the game has sold more than 1 million copies in North America and become the fastest selling UK game of 2010 -- all in its first five days of release. Read More »

Final Fantasy XIII Review

PS3 Reviews | Mar 5, 2010

The shortest distance between two points may be a line, but the longest is a gilded arrow fletched with platinum-inlaid peacock feathers and fired by Square Enix like a vector-locked cruise missile. Time in flight: 30 hours. That's what it takes to crack Final Fantasy XIII open: One-day-point-two-five convoying moody lip-flapping cliches down baroque troughs and tunnels, chutes and runways, gutters and slideways, scooping up cash and clobbering creatures -- creatures that serve as gates in the world's longest canal. Final Fantasy XIII Demo Goes on Tour

PS3 News | Jan 12, 2010

Square Enix is previewing the U.S. version of Final Fantasy XIII for three days in San Francisco, CA, but those eager to test out the game will have to find the FF13 "tour bus" first (via GamePro). The aim of the preview tour is to show off the game's Paradigm battle system and English voice cast, as well as to reveal a new area of the game. However, the tour bus will not remain stationary, so you'll have to check the promotion's Twitter account for updates on locations an hour beforehand. Read More »

Final Fantasy XIII: New Gallery

PS3 News | Dec 4, 2009

We stumbled across an awesome selection of 13 new screenshots from Final Fantasy XIII just in time for the weekend. The best shot is easily the one featuring the still-creepy but very cool Cactuar characters (known as Sabontender in Japan). For all those of you die-hard Final Fantasy fans, these shots should provide a decent amount of drool-time. A couple of the staffers here are considering importing the Japanese PS3 version of the game. Are you? Read More »
