Things haven't been all that great for master thief, Sly Cooper, as of late. Sure, in his last adventure, Sly 2: Band of Thieves, he and his team defeated the evil Clockwerk, but the battle left the band broken. Bentley, the brains of the operation, was left crippled and is now confined to a wheelchair. Poor Murray, the brawn, blames himself for what happened to Bentley and has left the team in disgrace.

It's not really the cheeriest way to start things off with the third game of a best-selling series, but there's a bit of good news for Sly. He's met up with a former member of his father's gang (remember that Sly's from a long line of thieves) who has informed him about the location of his old hideout. It turns out that the hideout contains a vault that protects the Cooper family fortune. That'll cheer up anyone's day.

With Bentley in tow, Sly heads to the old hideout only to find a rival gang attempting to steal the loot. Sly quickly realizes that if he's going to defeat this gang and get what's rightfully his, he's gonna have to get the old gang back together -- and maybe get some new help, too.

Sly may come out on top in the thievery game, but Carmelia will always take the swimsuit competition.

Disguise the Limit

The team has certainly learned some new moves since their last adventure. In addition to having new combat moves, Sly has now become a master of disguise. He's able to wear different outfits to infiltrate heavily guarded areas. These costumes aren't just for show, either -- in addition to affecting his physical appearance, they also alter his available moves. Murray has honed his fighting skills more, making him an even tougher pugilist than before.

And don't think that Bentley's out of action since he's been confined to a wheelchair. The inventive turtle has tricked out his chair with a wide variety of gadgets, allowing him to get even more involved with the missions. Rocket boosters allow limited flight abilities, and his Pocket Fisherman-type device lets him pick pockets from a distance. Bentley's vast intellect even allows him to analyze paintings to find secret messages contained within.
