Based on the hit anime series and Adult Swim cult favorite, Samurai Champloo: Sidetracked is a "lost chapter" of the series. Chronicling the adventures of two samurai and a girl on a quest, the show is known for its unique twist on both feudal Japan and hip-hop culture. The game does much of the same, with its spin on hack n' slash action games. Courtesy of Yoshinobu Matsuo, associate localization producer at Namco Bandai Games, the following is a basic list of the enemies that Mugen and Jin will face in their numerous battles.

Kijin:

While often treated like cannon fodder, the Kijin remain devoted to the dictation of Antonioni, leader of the Kijin clan. Individually, a Kijin can be handled by a one-legged Samurai with chopsticks. However, they often travel in packs. Hence, they are a representation of an important Samurai lesson -- strength in numbers. Be wary.

Tsubaki:

Once a local gang leader, Tsubaki was removed for acts even the gang considered immoral and now resides on the mountain pass. Thriving for something that can only be described as "beyond vengeance," the reason behind his lust for slaughtering the living still eludes everyone. He is now all but considered a demon and threat to anyone who nears him.

Unknown:

The only thing known of these creatures is that they are quite dangerous. Very dangerous.

Black Tengu:

The Matsumae Clan is renowned for its members having elite sword skills, displaying incredible stealth and an in-depth knowledge of a large variety of weapons. The Black Tengu members of the Matsumae Clan encompass all three. Worse, they operate as a unit, with each member striking and then disappearing. Stay quick on your feet and be sure your blade strikes each target. A single mistake could be your last.
