Jess Sterzl, Designer: After the release of Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters for the PSP, we found that there was an overwhelming demand from fans of the franchise that only owned a PS2. It was decided amongst all the parties involved in making the PSP version that bringing the game to the PS2 would be a great thing to do for the fan base.GameSpy: Are there any bonus features to give PS2 owners more incentive to check it out?
Jess Sterzl: We have taken advantage of both the extra power of the PS2 hardware and the larger screen of TVs to bring players a more intense version of the game. We are rendering the game in a higher resolution with more on-screen effects and full screen anti-aliasing. We have also created a split-screen version of multiplayer unique to the PS2.
GameSpy: If a PSP Slim owner can hook up the PSP version to a TV to play it, what sorts of bells and whistles would entice them to just pop this one into a PS2 instead?
Ricardo Hernandez, HUD Programmer: The PS2 is a faithful port of the PSP version with some added visual upscale more appropriate for the big TV. Both are great and it depends on what the consumer prefers to play according to their own preference - portable or big screen.
