LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game

Great!

One of the best Star Wars games to date uses plastic figures to bring fun and imagination back to that galaxy far, far away. Read Review

Based on the console version developed by Travellers Tales, LEGO Star Wars chronicles the first three episodes of George Lucas' popular science-fiction trilogy from the perspective of everyday building blocks. Up to two players can participate in the game at once and are encouraged to utilize team-based tactics with a variety of multi-character parties. Prominent moments from The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith serve as the game's backdrop for storytelling, while favorite personalities such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Jango Fett can be manipulated to advance your progress.

LEGO Star Wars Episode I Preview

PS2 Previews | Feb 23, 2005

A couple months back, I wrote up a preview based on my hands-on experience with Eidos' new LEGO Star Wars game. At the time, I noted that it seemed much cooler than a LEGO Star Wars game should be. Eidos has finally sent us a playable version, allowing us to delve deeper into the adventure. Sure enough, it's still remarkably fun. Be sure to check out that earlier preview for details on the game's mechanics, since we're gonna dive right into the game this time. Read More »

LEGO Star Wars

PS2 Previews | Dec 7, 2004

May 19th is fast approaching, and with it comes the Revenge of the Sith, the last of the new Star Wars prequels. It should come as no surprise that with this new movie, there will be a plethora of new games set in that galaxy far, far away. What might surprise you, however, is that the game that looks as though it may be the most fun of the lot has you controlling tiny, plastic versions of Obi-Wan, Anakin, and the rest of the Star Wars crew. Features

LEGOS: STAR WARS offers a simple yet effective control combination that can be done without being highly skilled with the D-pad. The look and feel of the science fiction backdrop isn't diminished at all by the presence of Lego's. In fact, the creators have blended the Lego characters and structures so well with the settings that the entire effect only assists in enhancing the entire game experience. Because the game is presented as Lego's, force can be manipulated to the player's advantage. When a character comes upon an area or door that seems impossible to penetrate, they can utilize the basic physics behind Lego's, demolish, and reconstruct structures in order to obtain entrance to new areas. A STAR WARS game wouldn't be complete without light-saber action. In LEGO: STAR WARS, players can stop in the middle of their game to have a spur of the moment duel with their light-sabers. Other light-saber actions include blocking, several attack styles, and the power to move or raise objects with the force.
