Pandemic Studios and THQ are prepping for another tour of urban warfare duty with the upcoming sequel release Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers for PS2, Xbox and PC. The game is hitting stores in the not-to-distant future, and GameSpy has something cool to offer you in the meantime. The original game featured extremely lengthy training session videos that introduced the player to the different facets of gameplay.
It looks as though Pandemic has trimmed the process down some with Ten Hammers in order to make things a little more accessible this time around. We're posting five brand new battle drill movies that can be accessed in-game at any time, or that automatically appear if the player is repeatedly getting mown down at the same point. To view the movies, see the top right of your screen. Here's a brief description of the five new battle drill movies:
#01 -- Suppression: The more firepower you put on an enemy, the less options he has available. When the enemy is under a lot of fire, they are technically "suppressed" and can't do anything to retaliate.
#02 -- Smoke Screen: In order to keep mechanized vehicles safe from threat, it's necessary to deploy smoke screens. It may take a short time for the smoke to fully deploy, but cautiousness will save time and materials in the long run.
#03 -- Laze Targets: One member of your squad will be equipped with a laser targetter which can be used to direct and call in air strikes. It may take some time for the Apache gunship to reach the position and open fire.
#04 -- Objective Markers: Always keep an eye out for the blue objective markers, as they will point to the place that your squad needs to reach in order to progress on the current mission.
#05 -- Movement Cursor: When your team is positioned along wall, you'll need to order the team directly to the corner to see around it. The icon window in the bottom right of the screen will indicate when you are correctly in position at a corner.
