Late last week we posted a new Spirit Tracks gallery and talked about how the spirit of Princess Zelda will accompany Link in a tag-team puzzle-solving manner. A new trailer now confirms that Zelda does indeed appear to die early on in the game, and that her spirit can possess large suits of armor which are key to Link being able to traverse the game's dungeons. For the first time in 23 years Princess Zelda is actually going to join Link on his adventures, in the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for the DS. The game -- which releases in North America on December 7th -- sees Zelda's spirit able to possess huge suits of armor called Phantoms, as well as give Link ProTips from the comfort of his new train.

Late yesterday, Nintendo announced a partial list of games that will feature in its 2009 holiday release line-up. Among titles for both the Wii and DS, the big news came in the form of an official release date for The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for the DS, which will arrive December 7th.
Other notable releases for both systems include Wii Fit Plus (October 4th) and New Super Mario Bros. Wii, which strangely has yet to have a firm date attached. Read More »
