In order to add "more depth and even higher quality to Zelda: Twilight Princess" Nintendo announced this morning that its adventure game would be delayed. Originally scheduled for release this November, the game will now make its debut sometime next year.

Perrin Kaplan, VP of Marketing & Corporate Affairs at Nintendo explains: "After much discussion, the Zelda development team has requested extra time…." Consequently, we're announcing a new global launch in 2006, after the conclusion of this fiscal year. We'll provide a specific date at a later point in time. While this may come as a disappointment to many eager fans, it will absolutely enrich the game and make it a multi-million seller."

This news leaves Nintendo's console without a major holiday title.

In the game, Link sets off to attend the Hyrule Summit. Oblivious to him, the kingdom he enters has been descended upon by a "dark fate." Now he, in wolf's form, and Midna, a mysterious figure that helped him break free, set off to free the Twilight Realm from the dark shadows.

On his journey, Link must solve puzzles, draft friends, and fight through dungeons. In the Twilight Realm, he'll have to use his wolf abilities and Midna's magic to bring light to the land. Besides his trusty sword and shield, Link will use his bow and arrows, fight while on horseback, and use a wealth of other items, both new and old.
