Gotcha Force is the new frenzied robot battling game from legendary game developers Capcom. Choose from over 100 unique customizable characters to create the ultimate force of fighting machines. Design your fighters to specialize in weapons based projectile attacks and impressive martial arts assaults to crush the competition. Make strategic decisions as to which fighters to use in a succession of battles, which depend on a player's "War Power". Win battles and gain new troops, which you can trade or use in future fights. Simple controls and various multiplayer modes allow for players of all ages to compete in up to four-player versus or two-player co-op battles.
Hitomi Nishimoto, producer of Gotcha Force, had a thought to bring to this year's TGS. While Japanese gamers packed booths to fiddle with Medal of Honor: Rising Sun, and the classic Joe Lieberman-unfriendly Manhunt, she was quick to bring news of a new game aimed directly at the "tween" market. Staking a claim and holding the fort for kiddies everywhere, she vowed to bring wholesome fun to the adult-themed gaming hegemony, as "kids had been forgotten." Equal parts Armored Core, Virtual On, Power Stone, Pok¿mon, Micro Machines, and Bomberman, Capcom's Gotcha Force is the latest in a valiant attempt to woo gamers to Nintendo's purple 'Cube of joy. Fitting then, that it should pile on the innovations, fun gameplay, and Japanese wackiness last seen in Viewtiful Joe. The only possible stumbling block? The giddy American name -- Gotcha Force -- tells the average consumer very little about how addictive this game is likely to be.
