Hello, friends! It's lovely to be back to share Sherlock Holmes' Deerstalker Bookcase Block.

"But with me there is a limit, and when I find a man who keeps his cigars in the coal-scuttle, his tobacco in the toe end of a Persian slipper, and his unanswered correspondence transfixed by a jack-knife into the very centre of his wooden mantelpiece, then I begin to give myself virtuous airs."

10" paper pieced
(machine embroidery not included)

Hello, friends! It's lovely to be back after quite a long break to share Sherlock Holmes' Deerstalker Bookcase Block based on my 2011 Deerstalker pattern.

I'm currently working on a Bookcase Quilt for my husband and have designed a number of new blocks that I'll be sharing here as they are ready.

I hope you enjoy this first installment and I look forward to bringing you many more!

Wednesday: Enid & Wednesday's Stained Glass Window

Enid & Wednesday's Stained Glass Window
designed by Jennifer Ofenstein
@sewhookedjen on IG
tested by Roxanne Ludwig (@roxludwig)
16" paper pieced

Please note this pattern is advanced.
We do not recommend attempting a smaller size.

Hello, friends! We are delighted to share Enid & Wednesday's Stained Glass Window.

Please take note of the piecing suggestions on page 2. There is a lot of bulk in the center, but it is manageable with proper seam trimming and pressing. Want to make it easier on yourself? Enlarge the pattern to the size of your choice using our  tutorial.

Use your imagination to color Enid's side. Roxanne used solids, which works beautifully. You can also try tie dye, stripes, or other brightly colored fabrics.

Welcome to the final (for now!) in my series of  What We Do in the Shadows-inspired quilt patterns to paper piece!

These patterns are an homage to the What We Do TV series, but I am also working on a few from the original movie so you can mix and match. After all, Werewolves, not Swearwolves!

If you are curious, I talk more about this quilt and designing on my YouTube channel.

Alphabet: Runes (The Elder Futhark)

Runic Alphabet
a 24 pattern set
designed by Jennifer Ofenstein
@sewhookedjen
5" paper paper pieced

Hello, friends! Years and years ago, when I was still publishing and selling patterns professionally, this Runic Alphabet was part of my online pattern shop. Thanks to
my Ko-Fi supporters, I've been able to make more of my retired patterns free, including this one for The Elder Futhark.

Runes show up everywhere in our fandoms: The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and many, many others! What fandoms can you think of that include Runes in their canon?

I've always fancied that these would make a fun border on the castle version of The Project of Doom!
