An Alien Invasion At The Capital

Aliens always seem to want to meet the leader. What happens when they do? In countless movies/films it means doom. This Lego MOC of a United States Capital Building Alien Invasion is created by Lame Boy. It is a great example of taking an existing Lego set (in this case the United States Capitol Building 21030) and upgrading it into something that is your own. A few well placed giant Lego flames create the expected destruction. And, the invading alien ships are the retro saucer kind. Held up with some flexible tubing. A couple smoke clouds finish the mod, and a bit of image editing skills help to hide their supports. The end result would fit right in with any B movie special effects production.

A Lego Rocinante From The Expanse

In the science fiction series The Expanse, a group of main characters find themselves in possession of the Rocinante. Previously known as the Donnager, a small warship built by the Martian Congressional Republic Navy (MCRN). The Expanse has a bunch of unique spaceship designs, almost all of which are clunky purpose built machines. This Lego version of the Rocinante is created by Kevin J. Walter. It features the grey color scheme used to hide the ships origins. A lot of the little details have been preserved converting it down to this small scale. Including communications gear (Lego walkie-talkies), the various cannons and PDCs (the little Minifigure roller skates add a lot of detail), and the giant engine (the Minifigure hands are a great detail). This Lego build has a lot of creative part use, check out some of those complicated shapes in the hull. A little hard to see as the flat grey appearance hides a lot of the details, as intended.

The Millennium Batwing — A Lego Star Wars Batman Crossover

This is the Millennium Batwing created by amusered. It is an epic crossover between Lego, Star Wars, and Batman. Specifically, the red, black, and grey colors fit in with Batman Beyond. This is not a part swap build of the Lego Millennium Falcon, it is a wholly unique design. The biggest differences include the cockpit, and in the front the connected mandibles (is there a better term for those?). From design to the finished build the whole project took about a year. There is an incredible amount of greebling here. So many ports, grills, tubes, hoses, and transparent pieces. You can even find a pair of Lego keys. There is a furnished interior, but that will remain a mystery. I like to think that Batman spends some of his time playing chess. A question about this Batwing that comes to mind is… does Batman let Robin pilot?

The Lego Horizon Destroyer Is Hiding A Secret

The “Destroyer Horizon” is a Lego Starfighter created by ZCerberus. It is a massive build that uses a lot of orange pieces. A relatively rare color in the world of Lego. In addition to the general color choices, the brown stripes look great. Designed with SNOT techniques you would be hard pressed to find any exposed studs. While this Starfighter is patrolling outer space the crew can keep themselves entertained. This creation is hiding a huge secret. Packed into every open space in the interior is a full gaming PC. The ship can transform and reveal a built-in 1080p LCD screen. Powering the ship is a SFX Power Supply, Ryzen 2400G Processor, an B450 ITX Motherboard, and multiple fans. There is even a completely hidden power button along the bottom. The end result is an impressive rig, especially since it has to fit into a Lego MOC. A perfect creation to play Homeworld, Star Citizen, and the new Lego Star Wars game.

Get Ready To Blast Off With This Lego Tensegrity Sculpture

This Lego space fighter is landing, or maybe taking off in this Tensegrity Sculpture built by Lego Mfr. The optical illusion is a popular new trend in Lego MOCs, and there are some surprising creations. Some of the best are the ones that emphasize the space between the two parts. In this build, that would be the rocky outcropping and the hovering space fighter. Lego ropes and chains have been the favorite pieces to use for the key tension based structure. The ropes blend into the scenery better, while the chains work best when they are supposed to be seen. This build is one of the taller tensegrity creations out there. It uses a lot of SNOT techniques, and the end result would look great on its own. A quick question though, did the space ships engines start a fire, or is the ship hovering over an open lava pit?

The 10-SGTY Racer — A Lego Tensegrity Build

This is the 10-SGTY Racer a Lego MOC created by lokiloki29. They built a Lego Tensegrity Sculpture to achieve the hovering spaceship effect. A building technique that has exploded in popularity in the last few weeks. Most of them use Lego chains to hold the weight and balance the floating parts. This creation uses Lego ropes / strings. It helps the spaceship look like it is tethered down, yet ready to depart at any moment. The hanger design is well detailed too. With SNOT techniques used to achieve a more detailed and cleaner base. The yellow boxes created out of Lego plates, and the extra grates on the big Lego grates are great details. The platform lift / gantry is what really helps pull everything together. The appearance of it being on wheels hides its real purpose of being the support structure that is holding up the starfighter. A quick climb up to the walkway and now our pilot is board!

The Luna Praedo, A Space Pirate Vessel

Ready the cannons! Unfurl the solar energy sails! Captain Ira is in command of the Luna Praedo, a Lego space pirate ship created by Alex Fojtik. Also known as the Moon Robber, this ship will attack and board any spaceships it can catch. This Lego MOC comes with a whole back story, which is one of the great things about Lego. It can really get your imagination going. This spaceship takes the term ship literally, and comes equipped with huge deck mounted cannons, 13 side mounted cannons, and about a million more guns mounted all over. The sleek design works well and it looks both futuristic and archaic at the same time. Almost like something from a cartoon or video game. The transparent green, black, and gray color design is a great call back to the Lego theme Blacktron.

The LL-527 Falchion Starfighter

This is the LL-526 Falchion Lego Starfighter, created by Mansur Soeleman. The starship comes with a short backstory. The prototype attack craft has implemented stolen Blacktron stealth tech. The unfinished style of this starfighter helps to make it look unique. The Lego MOC has an incredible amount of greebles, right up there with a Star Destroyer. The nose cannon works well and the connections with the Lego steering wheel look smooth. The cylinders are echoed throughout this design. From the nose to the engines. In the end the starfighter looks like the pilot is strapped into a giant jet engine, not sure if it is stealthy but it does look fast.

Lego Star Wars, Ultimate Collectors Series A-Wing (75275) Announced

Lego has announced their newest Lego Star Wars Ultimate Collectors Series set. This year the infamous A-Wing Starfighter (75275) will be blast off. These UCS sets have been released near May 4th, and this year is no different. The A-Wing in comprised of 1,672 pieces, and officially go on sale on May 1st for $199.99/€199.99.

The A-Wing is infamous for taking out the massive Super Star Destroyer by crashing into the bridge. The pilot from that mission is Arvel Crynyd of Green Squadron, who appears as a Minifigure in this set. Beside being features in Return of the Jedi, the A-Wing can be found in Star Wars Rebels.

Lego Star Wars, UCS A-Wing Announced, Set

This Ultimate Collectors Series A-Wing has a couple of features that are not noticeable from photos. There are pivoting laser cannons, and even an easily removable canopy. Inside the cockpit is a fully detailed interior with a pilots chair, and full flight controls.

Mike, Gypsy, And Cambot In A Lego Mystery Science Theater

This Lego Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K) build is the creation of Chris Doyle. The scene features the host Mike, and the robot Gypsy. The original television show started in 1988, and continues on (in some form) today. A human and a few robots are aboard the spaceship The Satellite of Love, and are forced to take part in an experiment: to see what happens to humans when forced to watch terrible movies. This scene feature Mike, the second human host to take part in the experiment. This Lego build depicts the moment between bad movies, when Mike and the robots are getting into all sorts of wacky situations. Mike is a great caricature and looks very animated. Check out those Lego hands, the solution for thumbs works well. Gypsy the purple robot is instantly recognizable. In another photo, you can see Cambot is also hanging around, and a mirror is used to show off the design. An excellent use of a Lego tire. Will Lego Mike Nelson ever finish the experiment, or will he finally escape?
