The Post Apocalypse In Reno. The Gate Of Nevada 2075 Lego MOC.

Welcome to Reno, the biggest little city in the world. In the post apocalypse a pair of survivors have found refuge in Nevada. Their current shelter is a ruined airplane that they found in the high desert. This Lego vignette is called “The Gate Of Nevada: 2075” and is created by Mr.MOCsProductions. Built as an entry into the Vignweek 2020 challenge. The specifice theme for this entry is: post apocalyptic. The crashed biplane is a great build. It is emerging from the sandy soil. The plane has a lot of detail especially in the wings. The support structure is a complicated system of bars and clips; the end result looks great. There are also a few rubber bands being used to look like some minor repairs have been done. The two Minifigures look appropriatly end-of-the-worldish. They both come equipped with custom guns. The flags hanging from the telephone pole look great, which is helped by a few custom printed flags. The biggest feature of the vignette is the Reno sign. It has an appropriatly retro look to it, created by using some of the new Lego Dots bricks. Hopefully the nuclear fallout has passed, otherwise the future is going to get a lot harder for these two.

The Faroe Islands — A Lego Map

This is a Lego Map of the Faroe Islands (Føroyar) created by Lasse Vestergård. Based on the collection of islands north of the United Kingdom, and south of Iceland. A little over 52,000 people live in this Danish territory. This Lego map was built for an exhibition on the islands in 2019. The build features 3D buildings representing famous landmarks. A few of these building include Tórshavn Cathedral, the ruined Magnus Cathedral, and the red roofed Sandavágur Church. The flag has been recreated in the left corner, a great way to fill in the empty ocean. A variety of boats and airplanes can be found around the map. The finished build is probably 75% transparent blue. To break up the flat texture of the 1×2 plates, 1×1 round pieces have been scattered around. The end result is a very clean looking Lego Map.

The Barricade From Les Miserables — A Lego Scene

Les Misérables has been a cultural icon ever since the original novel was published in 1862 by Victor Hugo. Since then the story has been adapted to all sorts of media, with the musical and film standing out. You can now add Lego to that list. This is “The Barricade” a Lego MOC based on Les Misérables and created by General 尓àvarre. This is the pivotal scene from the story, and the point that everything changes. The barricade is an iconic mound of furniture, wooden boards, and trash. This Lego scene has a lot of nice details. The background is a blue sky, and here it is brick built. A subtle detail but worth the effort. The three buildings help to create a focal point on the Minifigure holding their ground with the French flag. That flag is an excellent build. The flat 1×2 tiles line up nicely and can be posed in a way to make it look like it is waving in the wind. The smaller flag looks great too, created from three 1×2 jumper plates held on with a clip. The whole scene has been photographed well, with a hazy look to the scene. You can feel the tension.
