Let's take a look at the results from yesterday as we share one last round-up of the Esports World Cup game titles for 2024!

Rocket League

In Rocket League, Sunday started with the Semi-Final games, as Team BDS would take on Gen.G and Team Falcons would face off against G2 Esports. Team BDS managed to come out on top in their match, winning 4-2 and becoming the first confirmed Rocket League finalists. As for the other match, Team Falcons would breeze through with a 4-1 victory, setting up the Grand Final that many were hoping for.
The Grand Final would be particularly important for Team BDS, as a win would see them progress to third place in the overall standings, as opposed to joint fifth place, tied with T1. Team BDS would start with a victory, however, Team Falcons quickly answered back, winning maps 2 and 3 in convincing style.
Game four saw Team BDS tie the series at 2-2, before running with this momentum to close out the Grand Finals 4-2. The team of M0nkey M00n, Kassio, dralii, and ExoTiiK would take the top spot in Rocket League, securing themselves $200,00 while also allowing Team BDS to leapfrog T1 and Team Vitality in the overall Club Championship standings.

ESL R1

The Grand Final in ESL R1 started with all six teams on different points, as Team Redline, Team Vitality, Porsche Coanda Esports, Guild Esports, Williams Esports, and MOUZ started on 100, 72, 51, 48, 46, and 32 points, respectively. Each of these point amounts is based on the Group Stage Pts and #1 Seed Group Stage, apart from Team Redline's 100 points, which was awarded for being the #1 Seed.
As most people expected, Team Redline would continue their dominance in the final, reaching the Finalist Mode threshold of 230 points after just four races. This was thanks to an incredibly consistent performance across all rounds, as they didn't finish outside of the top four during any race in the Grand Finals.
Team Redline would comfortably win the fifth race of the day and as they had reached finalist status, this meant they would take home the trophy after an incredibly intense four days of action. Not only did they etch themselves into the Esports history books, but they would also take home $140,000 and 1,000 Club Championship points. It's clear that Team Redline is the ESL R1 team to beat, as they found victory in both the Driver Championship and the Team Championship!

PUBG: Battlegrounds

The final event of the Esports World Cup 2024 was PUBG: Battlegrounds, with six rounds of the Grand Finals already being played. Soniqs would make their charge for the trophy right away, winning rounds 7 and 8 to put themselves at the top of the standings. All the while, Petrichor Road were putting up points consistently to remain competitive, with a win in round 9 putting them within touching distance of the top spot.
Things would get even tighter at the top with TSM and FaZe Clan winning rounds 10 and 11, respectively, however, two second-placed finishes to end the day would see Soniqs win it all, lifting the trophy while bagging themselves a cool $700,000. Petrichor Road would come in second, as their incredible comeback would see them fall only 4 points short of glory. FaZe Clan would be the third-placed finishers, due in part to an incredibly successful day one of the Grand Finals!
That wraps up the 2024 Esports World Cup, with Team Falcons taking the top spot overall in the Club Championship. Another iteration of the EWC is planned for the same time next year, with more details to be slowly released as they become official!
