France win thrilling women's relay at biathlon world championships, Sweden claim victory in men's

Norway were leading when Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen picked up three penalties, opening the door for Samuelsson to guide his team to victory. Sweden's first-ever victory in the event was earned by Samuelsson, Viktor Brandt, Jesper Nelin and Martin Ponsiluoma. Christiansen outsprinted France's Quentin Fillon Maillet to take silver and consign the defending champions to bronze.

Sweden's Sebastian Samuelsson played a starring role as Sweden soared to men's relay gold at the World Biathlon Championships in Nove Mesto.
Norway were leading when Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen picked up three penalties, opening the door for Samuelsson to guide his team to victory.
Sweden's first-ever victory in the event was earned by Samuelsson, Viktor Brandt, Jesper Nelin and Martin Ponsiluoma.
"Yesterday I said we won the 2018 Olympic Relay and I think we have a better team today," said Samuelsson.
"It is amazing, I mean I am so happy. We all did four good legs. When I saw Vetle with three penalty loops, I thought, 'now I have to take a chance.'"
Christiansen outsprinted France's Quentin Fillon Maillet to take silver and consign the defending champions to bronze.
