Britain's Keely Hodgkinson pushed hard for gold in the women's 800m on the final night of action in Budapest but had to settle for silver. GB's men's 4x400m quartet took an impressive bronze medal behind France and USA, in second and first respectively, with Britain's women also taking bronze in their 4x400m relay. Britain ended the competition with their best-ever haul of 10 medals.

Keely Hodgkinson claimed 800m silver on the final night of the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, while Great Britain won bronze in both the men's and women's 4x400m relays.
Hodgkinson started one of the pre-race favourites alongside the USA’s Athing Mu, and Kenya’s Mary Moraa.
The trio were leading the way from the off with little obvious challenge coming from the chasing pack, though Britain’s Jemma Reekie lurked in fourth hoping to take advantage of any opportunity.
With 200 metres to go, it looked like it was between Mu and Moraa to decide the gold medal, and it was Moraa who struck out for the line.
However Hodgkinson powered forward to take down Mu and claim an excellent silver, with Reekie in fifth at the end of the race.
Hodgkinson attempted to time a final late dash with 100m remaining but she could not whittle down the gap sufficiently.
Moraa adds the World Championships gold to her win at last year’s Commonwealth Games, where Hodgkinson had also come in second.
For Hodgkinson it was a case of deja vu having failed to beat Mu at the Tokyo Games two years ago.
Speaking after the race, she said: "Consistency, obviously key. Another silver medal, I’m grateful to be on a world podium again, be up there year after year, with the best in the world. Different order from last year, hopefully a different order next year.
"I don’t think I put a step wrong. If I walk off saying there’s nothing more than I can give, then there’s nothing more I can do."

'One day I'll get that gold' - Hodgkinson reflects on world silver in Budapest

Turning to the Olympics next year in Paris, she said: "Try again next year, and one day I’ll get that gold. I’ve got three silvers, you see people getting back-to-back golds, world championship after world championships. There’s so much for me to aim for. That will keep me going for another year... See you in Paris."
The men's relay quartet of Alex Haydock-Wilson, Charlie Dobson, Lewis Davey and Rio Mitcham impressed, particularly as Mitcham held off a challenge from Jamaica’s 400m world champion Antonio Watson in the home straight to make sure his team won a medal.
