The Paris 2024 Olympic Games was one of mixed emotions for Dina Asher-Smith. The Brit arrived in the French capital with a gold under her belt from the European Championships, but she missed out on the final of the 100m and finished fourth in the 200m. Things ended on a high with a silver medal in the 4x100m relay, and she is now looking forward to the Los Angeles Games in 2028.

'I’ve definitely had a journey this week' - Asher-Smith reflects on 'really special' Games

Dina Asher-Smith has expressed delight with her 2024, despite admitting some things could have "gone better" at the Paris Olympic Games.
After a tough time in 2023 due to injuries, Asher-Smith found some form in 2024 and won gold in the 100m at the European Championships.
That run raised hopes of a positive Paris 2024 Olympic Games, but she failed to reach the final of the 100m and finished fourth in the 200m.
The Games ended on a positive note for the Brit, as she took home a silver medal as part of the 4x100m relay team.
“I've definitely had a journey,” Asher-Smith said in the Eurosport studio. “I was very happy to come away an Olympic medallist in the relay with the relay girls but yeah, I think it's been a fabulous Olympic Games overall.
“I've been in amazing shape. I've been running really fast.

"There are a few things that I would have loved to have gone better within the Olympic Games. But overall when you're in a new situation, everybody does, it takes a little bit of time to adjust the transition phase.
"I would have loved a few more shiny things."
Having started work with a new coach, Asher-Smith feels she is on an upward trajectory at the age of 28, and has her sights trained on the Los Angeles Olympics in four years’ time.
"I'm kind of experienced enough and I'm respectful of the process to understand that not everything is perfect immediately so I'm really excited for the build up to LA," she said. "I know that I'm in a great place. I feel amazing in this new setup."
