In remembrance on the 50th anniversary of one of the greatest presidents in our history – John F. Kennedy, I decided to talk about on of my favorite photos that was inspired by a portrait of JFK. The Kennedy portrait below was shot by the one of the greatest portrait photographers: Yousuf Karsh in 1960.
This Kennedy portrait really inspired me to experiment with several self-portraits. It was both the lighting and the post. There was a certain stoic feel to it. The photo of me below is based on the JFK portrait but I went for a darker moodier feel. I shot this one back in early 2010 and currently use it for my profile photo on all my social media networks.
