A quick walk around the homestead, looking at what we've growing and harvesting. Also sneak peak at the area of the garden I'm giving over to growing wheat this year!
I also talk a bit about my business, and how things are going.

So a little wonder around the garden. It's the usual mixed bag, some things are looking good and others aren't!
Slugs and rabbits have been my biggest enemies this year, although trying to get more infrastructure up and running has slowed me down as well!
So I filmed a little walk around video, going through the beds. I hope to get some more in fairly soon and get everything planted out that I've got as seedlings, May always seems so busy, fairly sure I could do just the garden and smallholding and still not have enough time!
Give the video a watch and let me know what you think. How far on are your crops in comparison?
I love this time of year. It's been a challenging spring so far (I know we're not even very far into it yet either!), but the sun was shining so I decided it was the perfect opportunity to go for a walk around the smallholding and have a look at what we've got going on.
In this walk around you can see our downed oak tree as well as the garden ramping up production, everything is looking very green and lush, but we're still having lots of cold nights, so don't be fooled and get too much going too early!
Let me know what you think (I'd love for you to leave a comment on YouTube as well if you would - helps loads! Even just a thumbs up is a big thing on that platform).
Thanks for watching!
It honestly feels like it hasn't stopped raining for months now. So with a few days of clear skies I thought I'd do a quick walk around the homestead and show what we've got going on.
Lots of failures in the garden at the moment! But when I walk around our place I can see lots of places where we're winning.
Slowly we're trying to take back the garden (I'm even paying the children to help on this job), but the orchard is looking great and fruitful again as well as the coppice is growing really strongly.
Have a watch and let me know what you think. What jobs would you tackle?
We had a lovely start to the New Year with a nice easy evening with some friends in the village, the children playing and watching a few films while we saw the New year in. Today has been a very lazy one, but things will have to pick up a gear next week as everyone goes back to school (and I go back to workshop work).
I did manage to film a quick walk around the garden last night before we went out. I think it's interesting to see the garden after our cold snap, it's affected some veg pretty badly, and making me realise that I was probably far to complacent with mild winters of the past. Oh well, a good learning experience!
Hope 2023 brings you all you need. We have one big change coming as our eldest will be moving up to secondary school this year so I'm sure that will bring many parenting adventures!
Thanks again for reading my blog, it's the encouragement I need to write it all down and I love looking back at old posts, it's a diary of sorts and has created many opportunities for me, but would be nothing without support and comments. Thank you!
Another Video! This time it's a simple video walking around our homestead.
I try to show what we've been up to in the garden, orchard, coppice and other areas. Also show the growth on the hedge we planted a couple of years ago.
Let me know if you watch it and if you like this style of video.
What would you like to see videos on?
