Ever since she was eleven years old, Emily has been enjoying romance stories. She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband, kids, and their many animals (dogs, chickens, and cats). In her free time, she enjoys to garden and bake. However, when she gets stressed, you may also find her baking.
Emily's first published book was a story called Baby, Be Mine that revolved around a famous radio host named Tabitha who finds herself dumped. To make light of the situation, the manager of the radio station creates a love-letter contest, but things take a turn and get complicated as the ohost and bachelor Sam gets introduced.
As of , she currently has more than twenty five published works and counting...
They story revolves around two sisters, Lily and Mel, who plan to escape their holding pen where human blood is turned to food for undead monsters with the supposed help of an individual named Carter.
With Lily and Mel separated, the sisters must use their knowledge to be reunited once more.
The sisters face another dilemma as Lily is exposed to the virus that turns everyone to vampires. Can Mel use her resources to keep Lily human or will she go full vampire?
Loved this story, was my first from this author and have since purchased several others.
Wow! Just wow! This book grabbed me from the first page and didn't let go. The story is told in multiple POV. Lily dominates the story, but Carter and Mel both have some chapters along the way. While I gravitated toward Lily and her protective nature, always worrying more about her sister, Mel, than anything else, I really loved the chapters told by Mel. She's autistic and boy does the girl have an interesting mind. She really adds depth to the story.
I enjoyed how this book could be read for older readers in the genre. I admired the loyalty to one another, as well as the antagonist's determination despite his own motives.
Emily McKay has done it again! With her trademark humor and vivid characters, Baby Benefits absolutely stole my heart. Dex Messina is sexy and focused on the success of his diamond dynasty and Raina Huffman is his long-suffering assistant who has loved him for years and poor Dex is too distracted to notice. But once he does, whoa-boy, the sexual tension steams up the pages. Raina is the every girl in all of us and Dex is that one we never thought we could catch. Readers will love this Messina brother and will be cheering Raina on as she tames Dex's wild side while discovering her own. I can't wait for the next Emily McKay read.
