In the detective series that inspired them all, acclaimed actor Peter Falk returns in his four-time Emmy-winning role as the wry and ruffled police lieutenant in Columbo Season Five.
Season 6 and 7 of Columbo proves again the strength of the writing and the wonderful character acting of Peter Falk. He dons his famous trenchcoat again as he returns in his 4-time Emmy award-winning role as everyone’s favorite Police Lieutenant in Columbo: The Complete Sixth and Seventh Season! He pesters with all the right questions in some of the most deceptive and deadly cases. The continuing final two seasons also features such acclaimed guest stars as William Shatner, Joyce Van Patten, Theodore Bikel, Ruth Gordon, Mariette Hartley, Nicol Williamson, Kim Cattrall, Louis Jourdan, Trish Van Devere, Laurence Luckinbill, and more. The landmark crime series returns, and no murderer can hide for long with Columbo on the beat! . out of |

The Kino Blu-ray set (Columbo - Seasons 1 - 7) is compared / reviewed HERE Kino's 2024 Blu-ray of Columbo: The Return has the rest of the series and is reviewed / compared HERE Unlike the Season 4 and 5 Package from Universal - Season 6,7 contains 8 episodes (as opposed to 6 in Seasons 4 and 5). Devoid of extras (interviews etc.) but this boxset with the final two seasons contain 3 single-sided dual-layered layered DVDs. Each side as 3 episodes (except disc 3 which houses only the final 2) Only English Hard-of-Hearing subtitles are offered as an option. Image/Audio quality are quite strong for TV transfers - detail is very good. I don't watch a lot of TV on DVD but personally I find these Columbo Boxsets some of the better transfers that I have seen. All episodes are clean and progressively transferred. Columbo is something I never seem to tire of and this DVD contains more good episodes. Stars William Shatner, Joyce Van Patten, Theodore Bikel, Ruth Gordon, Mariette Hartley, Nicol Williamson, Kim Cattrall, Louis Jourdan, Trish Van Devere and Laurence Luckinbill complete great casting and support Falk and the plots with excellent vigour. I am a big fan and would probably purchase regardless of price but this package is quite reasonable for 11+ hours of fabulous entertainment for a show that never really got weaker over time. You can't beat it for value. out of |
