You're a Hoot!

Hi everyone! This is my very first post as a part of the Dies R Us Design Team and I want to thank you for stopping by!  I hope you will join me and my teamies daily here at the Inspiration Blog; be sure to join in with your own creation on the Challenge Blog!

Since meeting my new next door neighbor, I've adopted her obsession with owls.  I just think they are so cool and SO cute! Since I just got some new dies, I thought I'd make this to have on hand just in case I needed an all occasion card in a pinch (and, honestly, I was dying to use my new Lawn Fawn set!)

What I Used to Make my Card: (A2 size unless stated)
White Card Base
Black Card Panel
Circle Punch
Impression Obsession, Owl, #DIE283-O
Lawn Fawn "You're a Hoot" Stamp Set, #LF605
Die-Versions Whisper Stitched Nesting Squares, #DV-572
White, Yellow, Black and Orange Cardstock
Googly Eyes
Black Ink
Branch (I used my Silhouette CAMEO)
Another Look

The first thing I did was die cut my owl out of white cardstock.  He's a studious, snowy barn owl so he had to be white; and he needs his glasses to watch for mice! I cut the body and wings out of white card, his nose and feet out of orange card, his glasses out of black card.  I then punched a yellow moon out using a very old circle punch.  I don't have a branch die (yet), so I used my Silhouette machine to cut out a simple branch using brown cardstock.  I adhered my owl, moon and branch to the black card base panel, then stamped my sentiment onto a piece of white card and then die cut out using the stitched square die.

I smile every time I look at this owl and I am hoping this cute little card will give you a smile, too!  Thank you SO much for stopping by, and if you have some time I encourage you to click on the links below and check out all the fabulous creations that can be made with products at Dies R Us.  Fondly, Christi

You Color My World

Hi crafty friends!
Stacey here and I am so excited to be here for my first post as a design team member for Dies R Us!
Woot Woot!!

I love creating shaker cards so that's what I decided to do for this project. Let me show you a little bit of my process though before I show the card reveal :)

I stamped my jar and lid from the Lawn Fawn How You Bean? stamp set and used my Copics to give them a little color.

Then I positioned some of the Lawn Fawn How You Bean Dies and the Lawn Fawn How You Bean Shaker Add-On Dies and held them in place with a little bit of removeable tape and ran them through my Big Kick.

After everything was cut out, I layered my pieces together, including a piece of acetate for my window. I knew the greeting I was going to use so with that in mind, I decided to cut out some hearts from scrap cardstock using the Lawn Fawn How You Bean Shaker Add-On dies and the hearts from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card Dies

I added my hearts and some micro beads and closed the back of my shaker so that it could be added to my card.

I used the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Color My World stamp set and added a few more hearts by the greeting.

Here is a quick look at all the stamps and dies that were used on my card today.

Background Building with Dies

Hello, Dies R Us crafty friends!  Barbara here today to show you how to use your dies to make interesting backgrounds that will "back up" your designs.  I love this technique and use it often. Follow our blog to get inspiration and wonderful ideas for your projects.
Here is the card that I did to show you  this technique.
I used just three dies to make this card. I started with a base A2 size card of Bazzill Green Tea card stock.  I cut all of the rectangle dies of the same paper.  This added teture to your project and still lets the image show through. The flower was colored and shaped with a stylus and I added some seed beads to the center.  The sentiment was cut from Gold Contact paper. It works great for die cutting and you just peel off the back and adhere it to the next layer.  In this case, I cut two other layers of the sentiment and layered them all together, gold on the top.  Then I assembled the elements on the design in the way that made me smile. I tried to get another angle to show off the gold in the net picture.
This is a different view that shows you a peek at the inside.  I used the part that I cut off of the right side of the rectangle die, on the inside. Don't let any part go to waste. I wish I had a better picture.

I use this technique often for my cards and I hope that you will try it.  Don't limit yourself to rectangles.  Try squares and circles and anything that make you happy!

These are the dies that I used for this card.

Frantic Stamper - Dies - Elementals #16 - Stitched Rectangle Frames
You will find yourself using these rectangles many times. They cut a thick frame or a thinner one. I used the thinner one on my card.
Penny Black - Dies - Gaiety
Frantic Stamper - Dies - Life Is Good

Going to the Beach

Good morning, DiesRUs Friends!
I'm Vickie Y and I'm very excited to share my first blog post with you as a DiesRUs Inspiration design team member.

Today, we are going to the Beach with Memory Box and Impression Obsession dies!

First, I'll share with you the process of putting my card together, then I'll put links to the DiesRUs online store of each die set I used.

The card base is 4 1/4 inches square.  I cut a piece of blue cardstock at 4 1/8 inches to layer onto the card base.

For the next layer I used the Memory Box Pinpoint Square Layers dies by cutting the 4x4 inch die in white, then cutting the 3.6x3.6 inch die cut in blue for the image panel.  I die cut each die I plan to use and lay them out on my craft mat as seen below.

I used alcohol markers to color the Memory Box Beachfront Seagulls die cuts.

Then I begin the process of adhering the die cuts to my card!  First, I adhere the fence, then the grass, then the birds in the sky, and finally the beachfront seagulls.

Completed card:
I hope you enjoy "our day at the beach!"

"Sent with love"...

Happy Monday everyone!
Vicki here today sharing my first "inspiration" project with you as a member of the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog Team.  I am truly excited to be a part of this team and everything Dies R Us

I'm sharing a romantic card inspired by one of my new die cuts purchased at the Dies R Us Store.   I found the perfect papers in my stash of G45.

"Sent with love"

This card is created in my typical choice size of 6 x 6.  It always feels like I'm creating a mini layout when I use this size.  I also love layers and details...lots of layers and lots of detail.

I die cut embellishments using the following...

I created dimension and layers using foam tape.

I added a bow and roses to complete the romantic feel of the card.
