Tender 68 goes to a decent number of fires, especially in the Bloomingdale / Roselle area. It is also cross staffed by the medic for some fire alarms and other fire calls.
Given that there are only 6 tenders in the county (7 if Glenside goes through with getting one), it would be wise for them to keep it. Most unhydranted fire responses in the county get 3-4 tenders on the initial assignment, and if they need more, those ones come from far away. It is also common for one or more of them to be out of service due to mechanical issues or staffing given that all of them are cross staffed.

It seems like they are able to serve their community without a truck.

I am guessing the current Pierce will either replace the 1997 tender or the 04 Quantum. I would hope they would sell the 97 and use the 13 as Engine 68. There are 5 other tenders in DuPage County, I really wonder how many times tender 68 gets called to a fire?

Another sharp looking rig coming to DuPage County. It looks similar to Bloomingdale’s engine. I like how it has the brow lights like Engine 21.
