Public Album Release party featuring Vanessa Jones and her latest work, “Grow Flowers,” will be held at the Bridgton Community Center (Depot Street, Bridgton, behind Renys) at 6:30 p.m., where Jones will play select songs from the project, and there will be free cupcakes.

Saturday, February 8

Public Breakfast at Delta Masonic Lodge, 920 Lovell Road, Lovell, from 7 to 9:30 a.m. or until items run out. Menu: Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, home fries, French toast, pancakes, blueberry pancakes, baked beans, orange juice, milk, and coffee. Gluten free available. This will benefit the Sunshine Backpack program.

9th Annual Soup, Chowder and Chili Fest at the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church, 231 Rayville Road, Otisfield, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Delicious choices such as Dutch Split Pea Soup, Curried Carrot and Ginger Soup, Garden Patch Chowder, Fish Chowder, Seafood Chowder, Sausage and Bean Soup, Venison Chili, and more. Donations are graciously accepted.

Winter Fest from 2 to 10 p.m., join Chocorua Lake Conservancy (CLC) and Tamworth Outing Club (TOC) for a Winter Fest at The Preserve at Chocorua, N.H. followed by the TOC Second Saturday Dance! Silent auction, sledding, snowshoeing, winter camping & trapping expo, CLC shoreline restoration display, Winters of the Past exhibit with Tamworth History Center, cold water dipping expo and a chance to dip, storytelling, bonfires & treats, indoor winter crafts, music, supper by The Farmstand & dessert, beer & wine, and dancing! Afternoon activities 2 to 5 p.m. are free/by donation. 3rd Annual Ice Queen Beauty Pageant, sponsored by Break Room 248, 5:30 p.m. at the Magic Lantern Theater. The pageant is part of the Greater Bridgton Chamber of Commerce Winter Carnival. This dazzling event is open to contestants 18 years and older. Whether you’re competing for the crown or joining as an attendee, it’s a night of winter magic you won’t want to miss. Sturtevant Concert. Celebrating his first year as Music Director of the First Universalist Church of West Paris, Davy Sturtevant will present an afternoon concert in the church sanctuary at 2 p.m. (snow date Feb. 16). A suggested donation of $20 is requested. Refreshments and a raffle drawing following the concert.

The Lions will be hosting a free pizza dinner social to kickstart their new member drive. It’s all for only $12 for adults, and $5 for children ages 8 and under.  The church is located at 941 Meadow Road in Casco.

Chinese Auction Fundraising Event to benefit the Bardsley Family at Players Billiards & Bar, Portland Road, Bridgton, 1 to 5 p.m. Two local pitmasters will be grilling and smoking free plates of food (donations welcome) while organizers raffle donated items from local businesses. 100% of money raised goes to the family. Raffle tickets now available at Players.

Monmouth Community Players present Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple, Female Version,” at historic Cumston Hall in Monmouth. Tickets are $20 for adults and $17 for students and seniors. Free Breakfast. The Table is excited for the return of in-person breakfasts with the option of pick-up to go meals at 9 a.m. at the Norway Grange on Whitman Street in Norway. The Table is always interested in other teams who would like to take a Saturday and serve breakfast. The in-person breakfast has been a great way to combat food insecurity as well as fulfilling a social need for many in the area.
