NOVEMBER 2022 I'm in the process of updating this section now. It's a long process. Please bear with me. It will be done slowly, in steps, probably through the holiday season. - Bruce It's rather obvious that BookScans cannot even come close to including every single vintage paperbound book printed in the world, but collectors who wish to share their books published beyond the borders of the United States can do so in this section. I will try to keep up with large submissions, but please understand that the original intent of the BookScans website was to post covers of vintage U.S. books, and those will take priority as I post new Updates; so please be patient. ** Keep in mind that the BookScans database does not list books printed after 1979. ** The books of greatest interest to American collectors are, of course, those from other English-speaking countries, particularly Canada, The United Kingdom, and Australia. A few Canadian publishing houses have become ingrained in U.S. culture. For example, Harlequin of Toronto, Ontario, has become so much a part of the U.S. literary scene that citizens of this country mistakenly believe it to be one of our own. As this portion of the BookScans database grows, some of the links at the left may lead to separate, stand-alone directories, but the transitions should be smooth and self-explanatory. If you encounter any problems, please email me. Major publishers are listed first in the column to the left. Publishers which have fewer entries in my database are listed below under "Other Non-US Publishers." "Philosophy" is designed to break out publishers of trade-sized books, textbooks & publishers that deal in social sciences and ESPECIALLY publishers of religious books. "Informational" includes instructional paperbacks published by corporations producing things from shoes to machines. You will also find "How-To" books, almanacs, books of sheet music, cookbooks from just about all food source providers, tour guides, and many others. (I'm still working on those last sections. It might take me a while to cull and move some of those books from the A-Z "Other Publishers" pages.) A Special Note: Look for Newsstand Library (Toronto) in the Sleaze Section of BookScans.
