Blogger screwed things up for me. Or, rather, I screwed things up. Either way, I can't sign-in to my previous blog, once known as "Signals, Calls and Marches," at http://rzachthomas.blogspot.com/
I don't know what I did, but I think it had something to do with the fact that I tried to change my sign-in information to that of my new and current gmail.com login. Interesting stuff, isn't it? I'm kind of PO'd about the whole thing, but at this point, I'm not going to press the issue. It's not that I'm lazy, rather, it's because I have other more important things going on. Like a recent move to Chicago, for one.
So far, I love it here. I've not done much other than ride a bunch and hang out with some fellow cyclists, but I've got the feeling I'll do rather well in this town. It's too big, but that may be a perception distorted by the fact that I was living in Athens, Ohio, a town of about 10,000 two weeks ago. Actually, no, this town is definitely huge, but it's also extremely manageable. I just need to slog through my work and get a job and then I'll have it made.
I'm also going to make a HUGE attempt to post on this thing more frequently. I have no excuses, really. I mean, I may not have much going on, but I always have lots to say.
I also came across this fascinating article in my favorite paper, the NYT. Seems that it's a look at a Brazilian Indian tribe that was at once both pre-modern and post-modern in philosophy, attitude, and aesthetic. Incongruous, yes. Just read it - I'll add my thoughts later.
