Finn wearing Jet's safety glasses. Jet's first day as a bike courier :) Jet wore these beanies and this helmet for most of the day. His outfit also included Finn's levi's which looked like capri's on him. I was just proud that he put it all on by himself.
I saw this pattern last spring at a quilt shop and had to make them. It's called "New Traditions Pillow Collections" by Julie Popa, she's a designer from Smithfield. I was happy with the outcome.
I started my new job at the Scottsdale Healthcare Hospital, trauma-1 center on October 12, 2009. I work in the cardiac unit as an RN, a step up in pace, learning curve and intensity. I've never seen so many patients get mad at me. The last place they want to be is in a cardiac unit on bedrest, hooked up to heart monitors/EKG's, medicated, and advised what to do. They came from the ER and they want to go home. I don't blame them. The heli-pad is on the roof, a look outside the windows of our unit and there are the helicopters and the sound of their adrenaline-like noise. Overall I would say "a wonderful learning experience working here @ Scottsdale healthcare, Osborn Hospital."
In May 2009, My buddies and I did a 2 day, jam-packed biking trip to the Salt lake area (Lambert Park, Bonniville Shore Line, Little Cottonwood Canyon, and the Luge). We biked till our legs went out. We then went to eat out at a great BBQ restaurant, and then ended the night watching the Terminator at the movie theatres. Dr. Hicken was soooo funny, he acts like a kid alot! The other picture is of the "DOG HOUSE" Dr. Hickens 4x4, diesel van specifically made for the outdoors. It also has a bed, flat screen tv, USB ports, and it fits up to 10 bikes (holy smokes that's alot of bikes). One day Bess and I will have a van like this one, except it will be ran by natural gas cause we are going GREEN!
We had a great Halloween night. Our ward had a carival for the kids and then trunker-treating. Jet and Jordan dressed up as spooky skeleton's. Finn and I were party poopers..... but we still had fun. Jet loved the trick or treating, he couldn't believe all you had to do was hold your bag out and they'd give you candy. He's in heaven with the stash he now has. It was a good night!!
I've been saying for months that I was going to start a blog.... so here it is. Nothing wonderful but it's a start, right? Our sweet little family just moved down to Queen Creek, AZ on the 5th of October. It was a very quick move. I'm just glad we are unpacked and moved in. Jordan's now working the telemetry floor at a trama-one hospital in Scotsdale and seems to be adjusting to his new job. I'm adjusting to the nice warm weather. We are excited about our new adventure here in Arizona. Change is always good!! Jet and Finn take up most of my day, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
