Our FIRST stop in Xi An- Chang An! Where there are several tall walls surrounding the whole city, where the people were protected when a war occured. Sadly, there was still a lot of unguarded areas. Surprisingly, it wasn't too chilly that morning. : )

Inside, where i think the tower was used as a watch tower or something. Hey don't ask me history, i was too busy taking pictures than listening to the guide. Oopps, sorry... heheh.. :S

Wahaha! What a wonderful way of dying!! Some weapon huh? : P

YEAHH! Looking hot! Like mother like daughter! XD Hahaha... See, we were the only ones on that street! The place was huge!! Believe it or not, we rented bikes up there too, and had a few races by feet! Hehe...

Terracotta! Amazing sight! Millions are still buried underground, yet to be discovered. And to add to the amazement, each and every warrior was different from the other! They were sculptured according to each individual soldier, so each are like one in a million. As rare as you and me, you can't find two of a kind! @,@

Haha yeahh my bro was a bit freaked out about the whole soldier thing. Lols, who could blame him. XD

At the place where they produced the modern day soldiers. And yes, even though they were created this century, well, i would say i was THE MOST MODERN individual there. Haha!

More poses. Lol hey, i only got that time to do it! Its not as though i'll be visiting them any time soon. XP

Mummy, she had to be one of them! Suits her fine in my opinion! Lols, she is after all, the general at home! Haiikk YES MAAM!! :D

HEADLESS WARRIORS :S Heads yet to be discovered!

Haha... Outside... We were getting cold, so we grabbed some hot tea, and yes, ICE CREAM too! Bahaha......

Luo Yang entrance. Cave dwellings apparently. En route to where there are alot of holes in caves. You'll see. C:

Ahah! Here i am... : ] Told you about the holes... There were HUNDREDS where that came from! In each hole, there was supposed to be a statue of a buddha in it. But because of certain emperors in some dynasties who were dulan of the religion, they smashed and destroyed so many of them. Wasted!

THIS, is the siow siow buddha. Also known for his liking of destruction, especially when it comes to his toys and keyboards. XD!!!!!

Riding the Qi Lin- brother of dragons, pi xiu, lions and bla! Nice and cozy up there aye? X)

Outside Bai Ma Shi (White Horse Temple). Don't look down on this horse here, its been around for over 2000 Years! Much MUCH older than you expected huh? ^_^

Up Mount. Yuntai. The scenery was quite awesome! Although there was an awful amount of mist, we still managed to peek through and caught ourselves some light. Can't you tell we were full of effort in our attempts? :D

Hongshi Valley! A blooody loooong walk/hike! LOLS. Was sweating by the time we concluded the hike! Narrow flights of stairs after stairs. Took us almost an hour and a half to complete the whole thing. Feeling slightly fitter now, for some reason. CX

See what i told you about the steps!!! So friggin steep right? Was clinging on to the sides and metal ropes for dear life! Hehe Despite that, i look pretty darn good in this pic still, don't I? =D

After lunch at some place below the mountain. Obvious he had to start using up some of his energy before loading his ass on the bus for another 3 hrs plus! Who could blame him for blending in so well with the environment. LOLS!!

My FAVOURITE not so complete Family Photo. Awwhh ko, if only you were with us. Hmmm... :'(

Forced on a horse after taking a hovercraft across the Huang He (Yellow river). This is just like a mini, plant-less island. One ride cost 20RMB! LOLS Only tourists like us fall for local "attractions" such as these. Bahaha... I counted ALL the horses, there were about 35 of them. Quite funny actually. Island of horses! Whoahhh... XD

Kai Feng- Bau Jing Tian's Magistrate Court. Imprisoned out of free will! Someone come save her, no matter how NOT innocent she looks! Hahah! Anyone? X] Btw, that IS a real prison for female convicts who were sentenced to death. That is where they await overnight before being dragged out for chopping! LOLS, CREEEEPY!! :S

Dong Fang Ming Zhu Watch Tower!!! LOVED IT!!! The climax of Shanghai! The view was just overwhelming! I am soooo going back there one day. The whole of Shanghai observed from this ball ball structure! Whats not to love? ^_^

The wonderful night view of the happening city below! Its impact on me is still so clear... The cars, they look like glowing ants in the midst of the night, engulfed by mega sized grass! Have you watched the movie Honey I Shrunk the Kids? Well yeah, EXACTLY THAT! :D
Outside was more brilliant! Check out the city lights! The tour guide told us that ONE nights worth of electricity is sufficient use for an average family for 75 YEARS! :O Yeahh Same reaction here!
The infamous Nanjing Road. Also known as Malaysia's Bukit Bintang Street, where everything is branded, in a HUGE SCALE. Lol... No shopping done here, thats for sure! Lols, there was a tram going in and out here too, FOC for pedestrians. Police forces patrolling from time to time too. Guess their safety over there is more assured then our BB. CROWDED!
Lastly, dig the UFO looking building behind me! Apparently, thats the tallest structure in Shanghai, i think. Don't count on this fact though, i'm a bit blurry with this one. Was feeling too excited to think! Haha! Oh oh, and if you ever get an opportunity to sit in one of those red cabs behind me, make sure you STRAP in. Can't risk yourself flying out the front windscreen could ya? I ALMOST DID. :6
Anyways, i hope you enjoyed the above. I understand that people do get lazy reading a whole chunk of words put together. But if you're still sober and awaiting, the below is a more descriptive piece of my experiences. Hope you enjoy that too!! ^_^
6th November 2008- There wasn't any direct flight to Xi An, so we had to go through a really long and frustrating transit in
Shanghai first. After waiting 3 hours in transit, we finally boarded the China Eastern Airlines- which is crap compared to MAS, and off we went 5 hours towards my long awaited great escape! :D
Very fortunately, our tour consisted of REALLY NICE people. Mostly couples, but like mine, a young family of 6 made this trip evermore enjoyable! ^-^ They were an interesting family. There were the parents- Mr + Mrs Wong, their eldest son- Khai Hoe (16), Khai Meng (15), Kar Mein (12) and the youngest- Kar Yan (11), who didn't look her age at all!
Initially, i took my time to warm up to them, but as soon as i did, i found them a really pleasant combination of a family. : ) Kar Yan the youngest is a five year-old sized petite girl who can't help but attract the rest of our attention with her baby voice and playful demeanor. Mom found her a "tinch" irritating after a while, i tolerated. X) Kar Mein is a really down to earth, CHATTY and easily sociable girl who entertained me with LOTS of her primary school gossip. LOL. Khai Meng is quite an eccentric character who enjoyed spending 99% of his time on the bus playing chor dai di and wearing his raincoat material winter jacket most of the time during our trip, including every meal time! XD Lastly, Khai Hoe was a surprise to me. Seemingly confident but yet sometimes shy, he turned out to be quite a funny guy for his age. It was nice just communicating with him from time to time and breaking a barrier of communication each day of our 9 days, lol, what a sense of achievement! :D
Visiting Xi An this trip has really made me think back of all my other trips to China. I've seen more from this trip than from the others. The Terra Cotta in Xi An, Shao Lin Temple in He Nan, Bau Jing Tian Magistrate Court in Kai Feng, Huang He (Yellow River) in Zheng Zou and finally, the Dong Fang Ming Zu watch tower and Cheng Huang Temple in Shanghai! This was certainly one of the best trips to China i've ever experienced! ^-^
There was surprisingly very little shopping the first few days, but on the last half day in Shanghai, it was definitely the heaven for shopaholics! XD Cheng Huang Temple was like a massive Petaling Street for pirated goods. And when i say pirated goods, i mean GOOD QUALITY piracy. Compared to those of our Petaling Street, CHT ones are so much more un-differentiable to the real thing. You wouldn't believe how ridiculously cheap the stuff are there- when converted to Malaysian Ringgit of course. : ) There was only a limited time of an hour and a half to spend in CHT but nonetheless, i managed to get a few things at a really good price.
China is a promising place full of opportunities for "negotiation" X) , and in my case, i took that to my advantage. X] Warming up, i approached the first shop. Browsing through the tiny shop, i finally saw something i wanted.
"Miss, how much is this overcoat?" "110 RMB" (RM55) "What? So expensive??" "Not expensive... Quality is good ma... You like it, you take it la..." "Nolahh... Too expensive... Its ok then..." "Wait wait pretty girl! Ok ok! What price you want? What price??" "Hmm... 70RMB." "Wahhh really too low ah!! Just a little more, little more can??" "75RMB is the MOST i will pay." (RM37.50) "Wahh you're really good at bargaining ah for a young lady like you"
<>
Stepping out of the shop, a grin couldn't help but ripple across my face as i felt a strong sense of victory as if a battle was won. Less did i know how foolish i was until i reached the next shop.
Although our Shanghai tour guide did tell us NOT to compare our purchases with each other after buying them, but everyone did. XP
The next shop and the next shop after that really made me regret buying from the first shop. Wakaka... XD I totally got fooled! For almost the similar amount of material as well as, i must say, better looking overcoat, i paid only 60-65RMB!!! I could've saved even more if i was cruel. Haha! Got pretty pissed afterwards, but everyone was. Hahahaha.... Nonetheless, thats the experience you should expect shopping ANYWHERE in China! Brace yourselves... ;D
Anyways, i still consider this trip the most CONSCIOUS, fun-filled one compared to the rest. Hmmm Maybe its because of my age... My first trip was when i was 12-Gui Lin, 13-Yun Nan , then 14-Beijing, now 17-Xi An. I realize i love China! No matter how ripped off shopping may be there, it does never fail to make you miss the hectics there, not to mention the overwhelming unending histories it has to offer. Imma chink through and through ~ <3
