Quote of the week: Peter Crouch does not head the ball, he pushes it with his head.
Anyway...in the Straits Times Forum pages, some idiot parent wrote again about the GEP. GEP. It is this "elitist" programme which every mum wants their child in. But...do they actually know what the GEP is all about? The GEP was set up for children who do not find the normal school curriculum challenging enough. These parents, being idiots, think that they have to get their average children into the programme. So they go for tuition specifically for areas like spatial awareness, hoping to make people think that their average child is...well...above average. In the end, the child gets in, does not do as well as his/her peers...and suffers. And the idiot parent will be cursing...
Well...yeah. I'm from the GEP. And...I must say that the GEP programme does offer something else... Something extra...that makes you feel more for a subject. Gives you the motivation to know more, when you realise you don't know a lot after all. And since you are meant to know more than is required... These stupid parents will then be cursing again...at the sheer amount of work which will never ever be tested in their precious PSLE.
So now, we have this parent who is concerned that people are paying a lot for "GEP tuition" to get into the programme...meaning that her not-so-rich family cannot compete. Well...get this straight into your head. Money does not buy intelligence. Having no money doesn't mean you are a genius either. In fact, if you want to buy your way through, go to Australia instead. To this UBER idiotic parent, I only can say. If your son is smart, he will get in. If your son is not up to that level, getting in will screw up his childhood anyway. And yes. GEP students do perform poorly in the PSLE.
Ok. Enough ranting.

Shinigami no Seido.
Shinigami no Seido. Literally translated as Accuracy of Death. Death. As in the noun. Death God.
Beautiful movie. Gently brings across the notion of death and what it is worth. Yah...girls probaably watch it just for Takeshi Kaneshiro... I personally like Manami Konishi for her acting prowess. But still...its a beautiful movie.
Takeshi Kaneshiro is a Death God. He follows his target for 7 days to observe. Then, he decides whether the target dies or not. With a cute dog following him, the movie talks about his encounter with 3 people (ok actually 2, but I would be spoiling the show for you).
Go watch it. Warms your heart. Makes you become less...emo. And feel happier.

I HATE LEHMAN
Lehman arh... you asshole. Make my town council lose 12 million dollars.
I can't draw, or I would put up a cartoon. But you can use my idea...
Super Minister GOH: Tua Pek ah, HOW? Our investment in the Minibonds failed! Mega Minister LEE: Yah. I thought they were mini James Bonds. How I know they die so easily? SM GOH: Our money sources are diminishing. That Chee B** Juan is bankrupt, cannot sue him liao. Sue also no use, no money. Our minibonds become so mini, they disappeared. MM LEE: No worry no worry...there is always some stupid US newspaper who will say bad things about us. Then my son can S** the hell out of them.

Koizora - Sky of Love
Michael Crichton passed away on Tuesday. The author who entertained me with his science fiction novels when I was young. Andromeda Strain... Jurassic Park... Timeline... And many many more. I will miss your fiction.
Watched Koizora as a drama. Granted the girl is not as kawaii as Aragaki Yui But the story is still as sweet.
Where do humans go after they die? Heaven? I want to be the sky. Like a stalker? A bright day means you are in a good mood. A rainy day means you are sad. A dusky sky means you are blushing. The night sky means you are holding me gently in your arms.
