You Have Stolen My Heart with Dana

Hi Zeus and Zoe fans! Happy New Year! Dana here today sharing a winter themed layout of my favorite castle. I've been following the restoration of the Chateau de Gudanes, a castle in the south of France, and this is just one of the stunning photos of this gorgeous historic monument.

I layered several vintage magazine and sheet music pages under my photo. I also found a vintage calendar page in my Zeus and Zoe Kit that was perfect to document the month this photo was taken.

I tucked bit of beaded trim and lace between the layers of paper. I topped the photo with a sticker that reads "You have stolen my heart."

No layout is complete without a touch of bling! I love the vintage buttons from the Zeus and Zoe Etsy Shop!

I hope you are finding fun ways to stay warm during the winter months! Thanks for stopping by today!

sweet memories box by Tusia Lech

Hello,

Here is Tusia Lech today with altered box. As a base I have used a box in a shape of beautiful flower. I covered it with Distress Paint and then I cut out flowery shape from scrapbooking paper, that was meant to be cover the lid. I stamped it with 7 Dots Studio stamps and StazOn ink. Then I glued it down and on all edges I applied Prima Chalk Ink - Old Rose.

Than I started embellishing. In my Zeus&Zoe kit I have found beautiful, pink ribbon, that I have used to embellish the box - I placed it around the cover.

When I embellish an object, that is meant to be useful, I try to avoid too much elements - because I like when my altered objects can be easily cleaned and are easy for using. So on the top of the box I glued down using hot gun glue two wonderful, fabric flowers (fabric flowers are much more sturdy, than paper ones) and have added some metal embellishments.

All used products come from Zeus & Zoe etsy store

My daughter felt in love with this cute box and uses it as a keepsake box.
Have a great day!

Now is the time - fall

Happy Monday!
Fall is in full swing in our part of the world, that means you will see it at least in few of my upcoming projects
Here's my first fall-theme layout of this season.

From my stash I have picked a neutral light paper for my background (Dreamer from 7 Dots Studio) and I have complemented it with the items from my Zeus and Zoe kit.
You will see few scraps of papers, authentic old newspaper, washi tape and cotton lace. In my kit I also had this sweet flower vine (Prima) and a flower pack from Manor house - these I saved for another project, but the packaging came handy! The beautiful brown roses are cut out from this package :) Finally a golden button instead of a brad and some Prima chipboards to add dimension. Zeus and Zoe kits contain such a variation of items, you can do so much with it!

Thanks for stopping by today, wishing you a great week! Don't forget to have a look at Zeus and Zoe Etsy store.

For all cards as a background paper I have used 7 Dots Studio collections - all embellies come from Zeus&Zoe etsy store.

Burlap star, that you can see below, was covered by me with gesso and than I created some splatters using Indian Ink and White Ecoline.

For this card I have used also wonderful, orange tulle.

Last card was created using gorgeous flowers and beautiful laces and doilies - all from Zeus&Zoe etsy store.

I hope you liked my cards :)

Get Lost Somewhere with Dana

Hi! Dana here today sharing a fall-themed layout. The gorgeous hues of orange and red foliage is one of my favorite things about the Autumn season. I've been following the restoration of the Chateau de Gudanes, a castle in the south of France, and this is just one of the stunning photos of this gorgeous historic monument.

I've used 7 Dots Studio patterned paper and stickers from my Zeus and Zoe Kit to build up the layers under the photo. I'd love to get lost exploring the grounds and rooms of this castle!

I've tucked several vintage postcards under the photo. I loved the gorgeous bouquet of flowers on this card and the script on the other. Both of these cards are embossed, which really adds some great dimension to my page.

I created a small embellishment cluster on the right-hand side of the page to help balance the design.

Thanks for stopping by today! Please check out the Zeus and Zoe social media sites for more inspiration. If you'd like to pick up a one-of-a-kind Zeus and Zoe Kit for yourself, stop by the Zeus and Zoe Etsy Shop or email Marivic Clifton for a personal order.

Meet Tusia!!

Here's another Design Team Feature...

Meet Tusia!!

I love all kinds of media – if I would have to define my style, I would say that media are the only constant thing. My favourite colours are fresh, bold greens, blues and pinks, but at the same time I just love delicate, pale hues of beige, rose and white. However there is something in my projects, what can be found always – a positive, feminine style.
Scrapbooking fills my whole life – it is all around me – in my private life and in my job career. I love the process of creation – I have created things since early childhood – all kinds of handmade things always attracted me. I cannot imagine my life without making some art. Even if I leave for a weekend, I always take my small “art-bag”, filled with art-journal supplies. I am lucky enough to be a designer in a few very creative places.
I love drinking coffee, reading books, walking through the forest, watching flowers on the meadow, basking in the autumn sun and being deep in my inner world. I can say that I am happy person and wouldn’t change a single thing in my life.

Love Plaque with Dana

Thanks so  much for stopping by today! Dana here with my last project as part of the Zeus and Zoe Design Team. It's been great being a part of this team and I hope I have inspired you with my projects!

I created this plaque with one of Marivic's stunning Berry71Bleu Handmade Tags and supplies from my Zeus and Zoe Kit. I love the colors on this tag and the gold accents. Using the tag as my inspiration, I added a brightly colored patterned paper to a piece of cardboard. I used molding paste, a DecoArt Jacobean Floral Stencil and Glamour Dust Glitter Paint to add a floral design to my base.

This quote sticker is part of the 7 Dots Studio Hopefully collection and fit perfectly with the love theme of my piece. I tied a piece of May Arts ribbon around the plaque and highlighted the edges with some acrylic glaze as a finishing touch.

You can find more of my work at Berry71Bleu and my personal blog, They Call Me Tatar Salad.

File Storage Box

Hello!!  Are you all enjoying all of the fabulous May projects?!  I know I certainly am and now it's my turn to share my 2nd project of the month featuring the wonderful products from our sponsors, May Arts. and Couture Creations.

I really needed something pretty to put my sketch books and art journals in so I created this beautiful file storage box.

I started out with a nice sturdy boutique bag that I'd been saving forever.  It already had the beautiful purple chevrons on the inside.  All I had to do was cut it down to the height I needed using a box cutter and t-square.

To give the box some added strength, I adhered wooden album covers to the front and back of the bag.  The mini album and 7 Dots Studio paper both came in my Zeus and Zoe kit.

The beautiful ribbon I used to trim around the entire box is from May Arts.   I actually used the backside of the ribbon because the front was a little to bright for my design.  So keep that in mind when you're using your ribbons; you're not limited to just the front of the ribbon and you could even tint it to match your project.

I accented the front of my box with Couture Creations dies: Key To My Heart - embossed with CC Great Almazo 5x7 embossing folder, Magical Butterfly, Hanging Sign and Aladdins Key.

The Couture Creations hanging sign is the perfect spot to label the file box.

I added clusters of looped May Arts ribbon around the beautiful Manor Creations flower and the burlap flower I made.

Thanks for joining me today and don't forget to enter the May Challenge for your chance to win prizes from May Arts and Couture Creations!

Have a Wonderful Day!!

Happy Birthday Beautiful - May Challenge

Happy Saturday Everyone!  Norma here to share my May challenge layout inspired by Riikka's gorgeous mood board.  Here is the LINK to the challenge in case you wanna take a look at the mood board and check out the fabulous prizes that this month's sponsors May Arts and Couture Creations are giving away.

My sweet little grand daughter just turned one and when I saw Riikka's board, I knew these pics of her birthday would be perfect.  I stayed with the soft pinks mixed with white and a tiny punch of fuchsia.  (Come on, you know I just couldn't resist adding a bright bold color, lol).

The base of layout is pink Bazzill, then a distressed layer of My Mind's Eye Lost & Found and on top of that is a piece of 7 Dots Studio, Love Me Hopefully from my Zeus and Zoe kit.  The 7 Dots paper had really cute medallions on it so I cut all of them out to use as embellishments.  I punched the top and bottom with a Martha Stewart scallop punch.  Next I stenciled some dots here and there with gesso and gave the edges a light white wash.

To matte my photo, I used some of the Paper Reflections accordion tags and a vintage handwritten letter.    Then I layered the circles that I cut out and a couple of the beautiful vintage crotchet trims from my Zeus and Zoe kit.

I painted over some of the gold buttons and the Prima Ruby Violet flowers to tone them down to match my layout.

I added a bow on her giant cupcake cake using some May Arts ribbon.

To finish off my layout, I added my usual doodling around the edges.  I just really like the idea of framing my projects and doodling does the trick for me.

Thanks so much for joining me today, I hope I've inspired you to play along with our May Challenge!

HAVE A BEAUTIFUL DAY!!!

Altered Dress Form with Dana

Hi!  Dana here today sharing a paper mache dress form that I altered with supplies from my Zeus and Zoe Kit. The mix of vintage charms, jewelry and lace that came in my kit is fabulous and I highlighted some of those special pieces on the front of my form.

One of my favorite pieces from my kit is this stitched butterfly.  Someone spent a lot of time creating this beauty! I love the intricate design and pop of color it adds to my piece.

Here is the back of my form. I separated the petals of a Manor House Creations flower and used them to make the wings. I used the fun flower center to top the bow that I tied with some pretty May Arts ribbon.

I added the subtle shimmery color to my form with Lindy Stamp Gang Starburst Color Shots in Cape Cod Coral and Clam Bake Beige.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you're looking for a fabulous vintage kit that is personalized to your tastes, just contact Marivic and she'll get you all the details. Also, there is still time to enter the April Challenge.  Click HERE for all the details.

April Challenge - Hopeless Romanitc Layout

Thanks for stopping by today!  Dana here sharing my layout for the April Challenge. The main aim of scrapbooking is to turn photographed memories into stories that can be passed down through the generations. Those recording the stories of the photographs are often the photographers, and are therefore not in many pictures themselves. I know I am one of those people. Even though I scrap about my childhood, I rarely scrap about myself as the person I am today, who I am now.

The challenge this month is to create and journal a project about "life as it is now," the subject being "you as an individual."  This challenge is open to interpretation and you can add as much detail as you wish, and share whatever you wish to share about yourself. Hidden journaling for personal information is fine. There is one additional requirement for the challenge, and that is to incorporate the use of buttons into your creation.

I'm a hopeless romantic. Some of my favorite writers are Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters and Virginia Woolf. I am very lucky enough to have my own Mr. Darcy in my life to keep me happy! When I saw the vintage fashion pages, jewelry and book pages in my Zeus and Zoe kit I was thrilled and included various pieces in this embellishment cluster.

I stitched together four pieces of beautiful May Arts ribbons to create this decorative border.

In addition to the gorgeous vintage buttons that I received in my Zeus and Zoe kit, there were also several packages of Ruby Violet embellishments like this button.

I hope you can find the time to enter this challenge!

The winner of April's challenge will receive a kit from the Zeus and Zoe Etsy Shop! The kit includes a package of flowers, stick pins, buttons, ephemera, a La Blanche Stamp, washi tapes, and a package of Magicals from Lindy's Stamp Gang!
