Vintage Shabby Chic Tag

Hello Leticia Here :) I am so Excited to share with you all my Vintage Shabby Tag, I had so much fun creating this tag using Zeus and Zoe goodies :) I really do Hope you all will enjoy it and do not forget to comment, I really do enjoy reading them all!

For the Base of my tag, I used Heavy Weight Chip Board. I used mod podge to adhere my paper to the chip board, the paper is from Pion Designs ( swing to the clouds PD2502) carried by Zeus and Zoe.  I cut out the little girl in the swing and used a frame from Michaels to frame the image, and also many Beautiful trims from Zeus and Zoe.
At the top of the tag I adhered a vintage piece of trim and on top of that a half of a vintage crochet doilie. I also used a silver metal leaf and a filigree metal flower that I added gesso and a doilie with a silver vintage button in the center. On the side of the frame I added a piece of crochet vintage trim with a vintage bling necklace and added gesso, I love the effect that gesso gives to the metal and paper.

To the bottom of the tag I added cream ribbon and the other half of the crochet doilie, and on top of the doilie a number tag with the number 22 , underneath the doilie is a filigree metal coner . I made a bow with seam bindding and placed a vintage button in the center, again to all the tag I dabbed gesso with a sponge to give it a shabby effect. Hope you have enjoyed visting our blog and Thank you for all your comments and support :)
Hugs, Letty

Marilyn Monroe Vintage Frame

Hello my crafty  divas..

Madame Ro here again to share with you my 2nd DT project for the month . Many people that know me know my obsession with Marilyn Monroe. So as soon as we got the assignment to create a  vintage inspired project I knew I was going to have to pay homage to my girl Marilyn.

My thinking for this project was to alter the frame in a way that showed its age. I wanted it to look very old  (vintage) and worn so I did a lot of layering, distressing and aging. I used loads of goodies from my DT kit. Everything minus the frame and the photo were items that came in my kit. If you have not had a chance to get your hands on one of the infamous Zeus & Zoe kits then you should head on over there now and purchase your kit today!  Please be sure to check out my YouTube video for further explanation on how I put this together.

Thank you for sharing a moment of your time with me.

~Altered Candlestick~

Good Morning friends...

Patricia again with my second project for August. Our theme this month is Altered Vintage, and what could be more vintage than these enamel candlesticks from days gone by? I would love to say this one is a real antique...but it was just bought at a general store...Let's see if I can encourage you to buy one and alter it somewhat as well?

I prepared the candlestick by painting it with Gesso to prime it. I then painted several coats of Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze onto it. I used the colours Sangria and Nori. From my DT stash I used the brown lace, stick pins, some buttons and flowers.

All the buttons were Gesso'd, misted with green, blue and a reddish spray and because they were looking quite dull, I decided to add some dimensional accent which then resulted in some pretty marbling effects!

This is an embellishment from Ruby Violet, given the same treatment as the buttons.

The stick pins and Butterflies are from my DT pack. They were embossed with  two toned embossing powders from Lindy's Stampgang, Hyacinth Blue Green and Gilded Burgundy Brass...The white Wire Flower and Peacock feather are from Webster's Pages Floral Bouquet. All of the stock is available from the Zeus And Zoe Etsy shop...

Thank you for having a visit with me today...Keep save till we chat again next month...

Altered Tray with Bottles

Meet Eve....one of our new DT members:

Canada

Hi everyone. My name is Eve and I have been an avid crafter for over ten years now. My talent has emerged and grown throughout the years and I have now fallen in love with Mixed Media & Altered Art! I love to create almost everyday, I have a newborn who takes up the majority of my time but when he naps you will most like find me crafting, instead of napping too LOL!
I am thrilled to be apart of this wonderful team and to design for Zeus & Zoe!
If you'd like to keep up with my creations the best place to see all of that is on my Facebook Page Eclectic Paper Delights!

Hello everyone!!

I am thrilled to be a new DT member for Zeus and Zoe! Today I have an altered mini tray with mini bottles to share. I used some of the yummy goodness that came in out DT package, such as the large doily, some vintage buttons and some flowers.

I started off with a mini tray I bought from my local craft store. It was calling my name to alter, so I thought it was perfect to create as my firt project! I painted it in a Robin's Egg blue shade of acrylic paint. I then went over everything with Gesso (I love my Gesso!). After that was done, I added some modelling paste - another one of my fav' mediums to use! When that was dry, I adhered a large doily that came from the DT package as well, to the bottom of the tray and let it hang over the tray.

I then added some cute little bottles I had in stahs which I thought went so well with this mini tray. I adhered some lace and burlap around the bottles, added some paper flowers and vintage button also from our DT package. Then I created a rolled burlap rose in the middle of both bottles for an added touch!

So that sums up my project for you today guys! Stay tuned for my next project coming up real soon! Check out my blog for more pictures and details! Hugs, Eve

Altered vintage box with a touch of mixed media

Hello, It's Aida here with my new project and first step-by-step video tutorial for Zeus and Zoe.

Our theme at Zeus and Zoe this month is Altered Vintage so I decided to create an altered vintage box with mixed media touch. I used beautiful vintage buttons, laces, flowers and other embellishment from Marivic's beautiful kits you can find on Etsy. I added some 13 arts media to make this transformation complete.

It was old and a little tatty jewellery box and now it has totally new look:)

The front of the box:

The top of the box:

and here on Zeus and Zoe Youtube channel you can watch step-by-step tutorial:

I hope you like this tutorial and my project and maybe you can create something similar with Marivic's beautiful kits - it is worth a try:)

Jennifer's Altered Box

Hi everyone, Jen here again sharing another project and my first tutorial with you.

Our theme at Zeus and Zoe this month is Altered Vintage so I decided to create an altered vintage writing desk. I got some beautiful images in my DT pack, along with some gorgeous lace and doilies, the hardest decision I had was what to choose.

My writing desk was one of the Off The Page range from Kaisercraft and started out looking like this:

The first thing I did was paint all the edges and add the vintage music sheets provided in my DT pack. I cut up one of the paper doilies in my pack and glued them to the corners of my image. I then used a stencil and some modeling paste to add some texture:

After everything had dried, I used mists, inks and some Luminarte Twinkling H20's to get the desired colour blend. I stitched up the bottom of the doilies to create a flower shape, added some of the vintage buttons from my pack and that was it.

I finished off by inking round the edges of the box with Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink pad and added the Tim Holtz feet to the base. The knob came from Kaisercraft and I added a beautiful, vintage pendant from my pack to make it look pretty.

Now on to my tutorial. I wanted to add one of Marivic's butterflies to the writing desk but the colours just didn't fit in with my design. Here is what I did to change them:

First I applied a coat of Gesso to cover the pattern.

I wanted to add some interest to the wings, so again I cut some of the paper doilies as seen above.

I blended in some Tim Holtz ink in bundled sage and tea dye, then used some Smooch to paint the middle and give it an outline.

The only thing left was to glue it all together and add some pearls from my pack. This was the end result:

Thanks for joining me today.

Upcycled TP Roll: Glamorous Cuff Bracelet/Corsage

Hello Crafty Divas! Madame Ro here...It is such a pleasure to be a part of such a great team. I am honored to share with you my first project for the Zeus and Zoe Etsy store.

I was part of a challenge a few months ago where we had to create a mini tussie mussie out of toilet paper rolls. I had so much fun creating them that I started hoarding TP rolls...lol When I went in to my hoard vault to try and figure out what to create, there stood a mound of tp rolls just waiting to be upcycled. So after a moment of brainstorming on what to make out of them, I decided to create a glamorous, over-the-top cuff bracelet/corsage. I decided to film myself creating this project so that whom ever is interested can try it out. Thank you for sharing your time with me and be sure to give this a go. Happy Crafting!

Upcycled tea tin by Yvonne Yam

Hello there! It's Yvonne here to share my creative project. I'm a huge tea drinker and have amassed a collection of tea tins. They make excellent gift "wraps".

Just adhere some patterned paper and fussy-cut some portions for texture and interest (I added glossy accent for dimension), then embellish with pearls, a pretty bloom and button. Everything can be found at the Zeus and Zoe store. :)
