To Penang we will go
I will be leaving for Penang with three of my friends tomorrow for a District Rotaract Meeting. Therefore, I will be missing college the whole day tomorrow. How was college today? Today was fine. Had mathematics first. We were given a few exercises in the class. Mr. Ong returned our test papers after the first hour of the class. I got 76%. It seems that the mistakes I made were due to carelessness. It was chemistry after Mr. Ong's class. Mrs. Ling gave us a test as promised. It was on Hess' Law. There were some questions that I could but got wrong. Careless again. Managed to put answers to all the questions. Hopefully I don't do that bad this time.

The guys
We didn't do anything during physics. To pass time, I asked Mr. Yeoh on some physics questions in the past year papers. at 11.30 AM we went for lunch. My lunch only costs me a miniscule RM 1.50! Add another RM 1.00 as I ordered desert. At 12.00 PM, we went to the biology lab to continue with our experiments. It was about yeast as a catalyst today. Finished the experiment in a very short time as most of the items needed were prepared before hand. We were allowed to leave at 1.30 PM.

Observing the dead specimens
Somehow all of us ended up at the same place. The A-Levels office. We took some photos and off we went to Malaysian Studies!

Oh yes, I got my haircut due to the date with JPA.

Date with JPA
Was studying for the biology test yesterday. Was not that productive as I only managed to study one chapter in one day. How slow is that? On the other hand, I kept dozing off while studying. After a few times, I decided to call it a day and went to bed immediately. Not to mention that the weather is extremely hot nowadays. I woke up the next morning at 5.59 AM. A minute before my alarm would go off. Prepared myself for college. Was ready at 7.00 AM. I sat down on the sofa and opened my biology book. I had exactly an hour to complete 130 pages of biology.

Stressed and relaxed
Managed to read the book till chapter 5. The rest was all based purely on memory. Then, Ms. Irene entered the class and distributed the question papers. I was expecting for the worst. However, luck was on my side. The questions asked were not difficult to answers. My memory was sufficient for me to lay down the answers on the paper. True enought I received a 34.5/37. Thank God I did not mess up this paper. After biology, we had two hours to waste. We went to Mc Donalds. Ivan got a breakfast set while we sat around him and chatted.

The verdict
We went to play the game Starcraft after that. A classic. It has been there since I was a little boy. Ha ha. Anyway, we played a 4 vs. 4 (computers) game at first. When the game started, I immediately noticed how graphics has improved tremendously throughtout these years. The graphics in Starcraft are so pixelised! And I didn't recall it being that bad. Ah yes, we were amateur players. I have never defeated a computer played in Starcraft without cheats. Oh well, we got creamed in the first game. My whole army was destroyed by a large scale assault. We surrendered and went on with game two. It was a 4 vs. 2 (computers) then. Towards the start of the game, we did quite well. I was pressuring the opponent with my siege tanks. However, the skies were then filled with protoss scouts and carriers. They took out my siege tanks and started demolishing all our bases. We surrendered the game too. Sigh.

Wabbit
We had physics at 12.00 PM. Ate a pau for lunch. Was not feeling hungry as I had a heavy breakfast. Went home about 1.45 PM. Just before dinner, I opened up my gmail and spotted a new message. I was given an interview by JPA. Nothing much to cheer about but at least I have a fighting chance to obtain a scholarship from JPA! Sigh, I hate interviews that forces me to behave differently. Formal speeches, etc etc.

Technology comes to college
It was a day full of tests. Statistics test was first in line. Was able to answer all the questions confidently. However after the test, Mr. Chiam broke it to us that the cumulative frequency curve was to be drawn inversed as stated in the question. It's not like it's dead obvious the question told us that it should be inversed. The word "more than" was the key. Morever, we have never encountered this kind of questions in our exercises or examples given in the class. How are we to do what we have not learnt? Right, seems that A-Levels is about self discovery.

Bumped
The next test was physics. One question in the physics test was a killer. Enough said. We went for lunch after the physics test. Dessert was available today! My lunch cost me RM 1.70 + RM 1.00 today. Cheap, isn't it? Later on, it was chemistry. Mrs. Ling wanted to continue with the pass year questions. However, most of the class did not bring the book, including me. Sigh. She allowed us to study for the Malaysian Studies test. Of the two hours study time given, did not benefited much from it as distractions were constantly there to pull me away from the book. Yeah, I reaped what I sow.

Pink
Alright, apart from normal college life, there was a laptop showcase by Hewlett-Packard today. I peeked just for a while and that was it. My friends on the other hand, stood by and took part in the questions and answers session. It seems that they were told the answers to the questions! Which is why no one should feel shy or scared to go up on stage to answer questions during showcases! Besides that, you get a free gift. Woot.

Fu-yoh
Today was the last time we would set foot in the physics laboratory for this semester. Finally, we did something other than measuring the time taken for a complete oscillation. Instead, we attached a 0.5 kg mass onto the string, tied one end to the retort leg and the other end to the newton meter which was also attached to another retort leg. We were supposed to get the readings of the newton meter at different angles. It's hard to picture it in words or perhaps the level of my English is just too low. If you are curious, come take a look at our physics lab manual! Today's experiment was completed quite fast. Remained in the lab till it was 1.00 PM. Then, we went out of the college in search of somewhere to eat.

Biology in the morning
We walked the row of shops and spotted a commotion at Asia Cafe. It seems that DiGi has set up a booth and was conducting a small game. There stood a tall structure with three levels on it. Level 1, level 2 and level 3. The game went like this. Any volunteer would step up to the stage, and yell "fu-yoh" into the microphone. A computer would then measure how loud the "fu-yoh" was. To get something it seems that one has to attain level 3 with a staggering 75 dB. A guy had 50+ dB , another had 73.2 dB while one lady got 60+ dB. Shame on the guy that lost to here. We watched the event for only a short while. We went in to the restaurant to have our lunch.

Fu-yoh
Up we went. Saw many familiar faces. We dumped our bags on an empty table and went down to place our order. I ordered a plate of noodles. Hey, I spoke cantonese with the lady okay! Cheers! Went back up and waited for lunch to be served. Mine cost me a RM 3.80. It's worth it when the portion given is considered. I was satisfied. So should you. =)

Wan tan mee
Went home at 2.00 PM. Did some homework before leaving the house at 6.00 PM to join my friends for exercising. This is the first time I have been out of the house to sweat since after SPM. Sigh. I should see the sun more often. Anyhow, we jogged quite a distance. I was satisfied myself as I did not slow my friends down. Compared to last time, I think I have more stamina now. Even after months of not exercising! We ended up in a field and went on with push ups and chin ups. Went home at 7.00 PM with my body aching all over.

Saturday class
Before I went to sleep yesterday night, I set my cell phone to blast away at 7.00 AM and 8.00 AM. I knew that one is not enough. True enough, the 7.00 AM alarm rang and I switched it off. I was in dreamland again after that. When the second alarm rang, I got out of bed and got ready for the day. Had nasi lemak for today's breakfast. At 9.30 AM, went to Ivan's house to pick him up and off to college we go. We reached college and saw an arrangement of tables and chairs, with music blasting away. It's as though an event is taking place. I was guessing that it had something to do with the AUP as there was a pathway full with information regarding the United States of America. We headed right for room 211 and noticed no one inside it. We were the first two humans. I text messaged Steven to ask whether he is on the way or not. The reply was, five minutes.

Work, work and more work!
Not long after, more of my classmates arrived. By 10.00 AM, all of us were already in the class. Ms. Irene stormed into the class moments later. I was still doing the homework which was due today. Anyway, it came out to be that we need not pass it up today. Yay. We were greeted with a jeans wearing Irene today. A little awkward as this was the first time. It seems that there is a dress code for INTI College lecturers, from Monday to Friday. Apart from that, we were given work to do. Within the two hours, we were required to finish it. A extraordinaire feat I would say. However, the though of enjoying a cup of slurpee changed it all. We completed the worksheet in an hour or so. Off we went to 7-11.

The Carnage
We bought for our classmates some drinks and tidbits too. A total of 5 vitagens, 3 slurpees, 1 big gulp, 10 choki-chokis, 1 500ml 100 Plus and a 325ml 100 Plus. The fun part about visiting 7-11? Filling the slurpee till the maximum capacity. As usual, I tested the slurpee to check whether it has melted. I pushed the berry blast flavour lever and out came a stream of water. It ran till ice started popping out from it. One way to obtain the maximum was to put the cap over the cup and pour the ice in. As for me, I refrain from doing that due to a past experience. Remember what happened to Sarven at the USJ 11 7-11? Well, I developed a new tactic. Do you know how the Mc Donalds ice cream are served? Its twisted! That's exactly what I did for the slurpee. When it gets to a certain height, I would then take the cap and slowly compact the ice. I'll proceed to the counter when I'm satisfied with the amount of ice in the cup. Well, there's more drama than that today. While constructing the tallest slurpee tower in the world, an earthquake ripped the province and down came the slurpee tower onto the floor. Poor them.

Ice ice lolly
Went back to class after that holding everyone's stuff. Noticed a lollypop in my bag which was bought almost a week ago. Opened it and dipped it into my slurpee. How did it taste? The slurpee tasted a little cola-ish. That's just about all. After everyone was done with the worksheet, we collected our past year question papers. There were a few problems though. We had duplicate papers and some of us had some papers missing. The problem was solved though. Thanks to our class' cooperation. Alright, it seems that the college had an open day today. All the colleges in the vicinity of SS 15 had it. We were able to catch a glimpse of our juniors. It is time to claim my five hundred bucks! Woot! Went home at 12.30 PM with Ivan.

Friends
It's that time again. It's the end of the week when everyone would have planned the two days of well earned rest. From hanging out with friends or maybe just spending time with their own families. Without having the two days break, any student would enter into a state of depression. Stress perhaps. And they say that youngsters do not have stress. Bull, I'd say. Guess what? I am already studying thirty one hours per week. That's a lot. More than what we would in high school. During high school, there is no such thing as replacement class. Only relief, which brings joy to every student, including me. Hey, who likes to study? Ms. Irene owes us a two hour class as she was not able to lecture us on one of the Wednesdays, few weeks ago as she was in the hospital looking after her husband. Aw, ain't that sweet. Leaving us students to come at 8.00 AM not knowing that class is cancelled. A notice was pasted on the class door. So what? It was not pasted there a day before. So what's the use? Two good hours of comfort at home was wasted.
Biology class was the first obstacle for today's bid to freedom. Our homework were checked. Every homework given is expected to be completed on the following day. It's as if we take only one subject that we must be able to complete it on time. Anyhow, thanks to Steven for providing me with the answers to the biology homework. It really takes a lot of time and effort to complete it. On the other hand, how would I be able to do it as I have not started on my revisions yet? I call it a waste of time. Instead of giving homework, we should be revisiting the chapters in class. Who knows the lecturer might have left out something or wishes to add anything to the notes? Perhaps they find it pointless as we could do it at home. Even so, it's still better than doing the homework.

To pull you up when you're down
Statistics class was about copying notes once again. Time flew quickly and before we knew it, it was already chemistry. We discussed the tutorial questions today. Questions which I could not do were made clear of course. Hopefully I'll get the above 65% for my semester exam, or I am so dead. During break time, went to the A-Levels office to check my gmail for some forms. Went back to class later and received our past year questions. Class ended soon after. Waited in the A-Levels office till it was 1 PM. Went with my former schoolmate and his friend to the cyber cafe. Played a game of counter-strike 1.6 for an hour. Really not used to the mechanics of the game anymore. You can't do things you can do in counter-strike source. Instead of owning, I got a marginal score. Sad, isn't it? Not to forget that I am having biology class from 10 AM - 12 PM tomorrow.

Pinball frenzy
Class started off with mathematics today. There was to be a test today as promised. However, Mr. Ong gave us some questions on vectors first before proceeding with the test. Yes, the vector questions were very familiar. However, there was a new type of questions asked, or maybe it was that I did not do enough exercise during my high school years to notice it. Anyhow it asked about the value of a certain vector if a parallelogram was to be formed. Finished it before one hour was up and went to the A-Levels office. There I played a game of pinball. Was later joined by my friends.

Pinballers
We went back to the classroom to continue with our test. A fifty five minutes test on trigonometry. I still could not get the trigonometry equation right. I divided the equation on both sides which in fact is not the right step as some of the values for theta will vanish with it. Only after the test did I realise the mistake made. Thanks Steven. I have to constantly remind myself from now onwards. Do not divide or multiply but bring it to the left or right for subtraction or addition!

Can you obtain 1,000,000,000 in pinball?
We received our chemistry test marks later on. I got a 28/45, not too bad for someone who did not study for the test. The highest was 37.5. Realised that A-Levels is about common sense as they would give choices of answers which are correct but also wrong under certain circumstances. I got cheated on one of the objective questions. Part B saved me. If not, I would've received a lower mark. We did an experiment on the enzyme concentration for biology today. It was time consuming as we had to wait for the enzymes to catalyse the breaking down of starch to glucose. While waiting for time to pass by, we chatted and made noise as usual. My group obtained weird results at the end of the experiment. Therefore, we borrowed results from the other group.

Waiting for the clock to tick
I have always encountered problems with photobucket at night. Connection to that website seems to be very poor. However, I installed the feature which enables me to upload photos from my computer directly to photobucket. Guess what, it helps! Although it encounters connection problems once a while. For those who have photobucket, go download the feature!
