Erik and family came to visit
Lucas ready for church - I can't believe how grown up he looks to me! July 31st |
Erik, Brinda, Nathan, Daniel & Matthew stopped to visit for a day on their way to Colorado and then Utah to drop Nathan off at BYU. We had a fun day and my boys loved playing with their cousins. I didn't get any pictures, but we spent the morning at the Transportation Museum. In the afternoon we hung out at home and rested and then took a picnic to Forest Park where I finally remembered to take pictures! We're excited to see them one more time as they head back home to Maryland - and this time we'll get to see Michelle.

Creve Coeur Lake, bathtime and 9 years
A neighbor told us about Creve Coeur Lake and since we've been missing the lakes in Minneapolis, we wanted to check it out. Zeke and I took our rollerblades, Lucas took his scooter and Matias took his bike. It was so nice to be outside and to get some exercise and the boys had fun. You're not allowed to go swimming in the lake, but it's a great park and I'm sure we'll go back many times. July 26th

Life with Jonas at home
It was great having my mom and dad here for another week after Jonas was born. The older 3 boys loved watching trains with my dad and doing activities and crafts with my mom. Nicolas especially got addicted to train videos while Grandpa was here. Here are some pictures of the 2 weeks after Jonas was born.
Nicolas loved Grandpa - especially when Grandpa would show him train videos on his computer! July 12th |

playing at the splash pad at the park check out his wounds from his bike accident** July 25th |
**On Sunday evening (the 24th), we went for a walk around our neighborhood. Matias wanted to ride his bike and the rest of us walked (Jonas was in the moby wrap). There is one part of our neighborhood with a big hill that the boys love to ride down. I'm always freaked out watching them ride it but they've both done it so many times that I was starting to get less worried until what happened this time. Lucas was running behind Matias going down the hill and we think what happened is Matias looked back to see where Lucas was and wasn't paying attention to what was coming and he swerved a bit and fell pretty hard off his bike. Luckily he was wearing his helmet but his face was still super bloody. We got him home to clean him up and realized that thankfully he didn't need stitches for his wounds, but he said his wrist and head hurt so Zeke took him to the ER to make sure nothing was broken and that he didn't have a concussion. Mobap (where Jonas was born) has a great pediatric ER that our neighbor told us about so Zeke took him there. Matias wasn't super excited about going, but Zeke said the doctor was great with Matias and he also got to watch Scooby Doo while they monitored him to make sure it wasn't a concussion. When they concluded that everything was fine, they even sent him home with a Dr. Seuss book All in all, for our first ER experience, not too bad!
