Lisa at the pool

We brought Lisa to the swimming complex. She looked apprehensive at first but enjoyed splashing water later. This is actually the second time she is at the pool. The first time we went when she was about 8 months old. However, due to the long interval between this time and the previous time, she seemed to have forgotten the last experience. We did not keep her in the pool for too long as her fingers became very wrinkled, so we were in the pool for about 20-25 minutes.

Budding photographer

My back was against Lisa and I know she was playing with some objects on the coffee table. Then I heard a familiar click-clack of a shutter...I turned around and there she was trigger-happy and snapping away with my Sony Ericsson K700i.

These are the first photographs taken by Lisa Foo.

WARNING: Such photographs can only be appreciated by proud mummies and daddies of babies...

Turning point

This is a very accurate description about life after having a baby. I've put in bold those I agree with! Very much!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What changes when you have a baby? A better question may be: What doesn't change? Here, writer and mom Rebecca Woolf lists her most notable post-baby observations. Then scroll down to read our favorite comments from readers about how their babies changed their lives.
1. You finally stop to smell the roses, because your baby is in your arms.
2. Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid.
3. The sacrifices you thought you made to have a child no longer seem like sacrifices.
4. You respect your body ... finally.
5. You respect your parents and love them in a new way.
6. You find that your baby's pain feels much worse than your own.
7. You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child.
8. You lose touch with the people in your life whom you should have banished years ago.
9. Your heart breaks much more easily.
10. You think of someone else 234,836,178,976 times a day.
11. Every day is a surprise.
12. Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please you. (Hooray for poop!)
13. You look at your baby in the mirror instead of yourself.
14. You become a morning person.
15. Your love becomes limitless, a superhuman power.
Lisa at 9 mths
How time flies. It's Christmas again. Lisa is now coming to 9 mths. Just when we thought the worst is over and we can get 6 hours of sleep a night, Lisa is teething and our dream just crashed. She is now gumming everything and putting lots of stuff into her mouth. At night, she can go cranky for no reason and cry incessantly for one hour...then sob in her sleep for another half hour. sigh. Fortunately the early months of lack of sleep has geared me up for this phase.
However, the lil' gal is blossoming into a cute little thing. This photo above sponsored some free diapers for her. heehee.
New milestones for Lisa
Lisa Foo can now competently:-
1. Roll back and forth on the mat
2. Scoot around on her walker
3. Put everything she can get her hands on into her mouth- faster than the speed of light
4. Manouvre tight corners in her walker
5. Finding new corners in our flat
6. Screeching at the top of her voice
7. Play peek-a-boo
8. Chew on the table edge
9. Gnaw on her fingers
10. Grasp tightly (including pulling hair and pulling spectacles off your face)
She can somewhat:-
1. Crawl (only backwards with the aid of her head...like a caterpillar)
2. Sit up from crawling position
3. Call "Mama"..dunno if she means grandma or me...hmmmm
Most recently, she learnt how to pat us on the back like how we pat her to sleep..ahhhh...nice...
Featured in Mother & Baby Magazine!
We were featured in the "fab dad" section of the August issue of M&B magazine! Some friends called to ask how did we get to be featured...haha! Well, our friend happens to be a free-lance contributor of the magazine...so...we became his interview "subjects".
Write-up:
Simon's wife, Adena says:
"Simon selflessly devotes his time to caring for baby Lisa in big and small ways, from cutting her tiny nails single-handedly to changing her diapers in the gents. He's so good, it seems he's been a father for years- I often jokingly ask him if he wants to be a stay-at-home dad as he is such a natural with Lisa! It's really heartwarming to see father and daughter bond-he's an impressive father."
Simon's point of view:
YOUR FIRST THOUGHTS ON BECOMING A DAD?
"I'm so looking forward to seeing and holding you. I can't wait to welcome you into our family and complete it."
HOW HAS FATHERHOOD CHANGED YOU?
"Besides less sleep, my greatest challenge is to offer my wife understanding and support as she transits into motherhoo, as well as patience in understanding my baby's needs."
ALL DADS ARE FABULOUS BECAUSE...
"Fathers provide leadership in the family. We nurture and protect, and as the captain of the ship, we rough it out together in good times and bad,"
