First, Shifra gets a big Mazel Tov on the birth of another grandson. We are so happy for her and the family. Shifra has been working on this fantastic quilt for awhile. It's partially paper pieced and the rest is her own unique design. She stopped by today to show it to me. Now, she just has to decide on the borders and get it finished. I hope to show you the quilt after it's quilted..

Comfort Quilt
I'm so happy. I just finished another comfort quilt. This was started sometime ago and there were some delays. It just goes to show you, that you should never give up.
Thanks to Bryna for donating this fabric and helping me with it. Also, thank you Sara for helping. She suggested the gold in this quilt and it really makes the quilt pop.
A big thank you to Bud Rutz for donating the batting. They will be at the Israeli Quilters Association winter retreat in Kfar Hayarok with lots of new fabric. If you can't get there, they said come by their store after Chanukah; there will be lots of new fabric on the shelves.

Sara's Comfort Quilt
This week Sara surprised us with this comfort quilt she is making for a friend of hers. It's almost finished and it's wonderful. It will bring a great deal of comfort to her friend. I hope to show it to you as soon as it's finished.
This week Rina got her tablecloth ready for quilting and she started something new. These adorable Yo-Yo's. We'll have to show them to you as she learns how to do this and the progress that she makes. There are endless ways to use this cuties.

Doll Quilt
Our latest doll quilt is finished and was delivered to a very happy little girl today. She just arrived back here in Israel from America and had a new doll with her. Great timing for her and us. And what a great big smile we received. Now when she sleeps under her new quilt, her doll has one too.

Chanukah Card
A big thank you to Stephanie from "My Imperfect Life" for sending our group this delightful Chanukah Card. It's so much fun to have quilting friends from all over the world. There are no borders when it comes to quilting. You can reach Stephanie at

Busy Ladies
Here, Sara is showing her latest tote bag. She made this bag with vinyl on the outside in case it rains. It doesn't rain in Israel very often, but we do get rain in the winter. Great idea Sara.
And this is the inside.
Sara also is busy knitting this fluffy scarf for a gift.
Shoshana also is making this scarf and making adorable head coverings. This is easy for the ladies to do while listening to our shiur.

Sara has in mind to use these groups of fat quarters in two new projects. We will just have to wait and see what she comes up with.

Another Comfort Quilt
Another comfort quilt is finished, and ready to be delivered. A big thank you to Rina for the machine quilting. We used puffy polyester batting on this one; so, it looks so cuddly. I have enough pieces left over from this quilt that I may make a matching doll quilt, or another small baby quilt. I'll have to see how much time I have. A big thank you to our friends at Budrutz for donating the batting, and to our dear friend Stephanie in Texas, for donating the fabric.

New Comfort Quilt
We finished another quick comfort quilt. This one may be going to a very sick little boy in Betar. It's green and blue and I used green with white dots for the backing. I think it turned out well.

Mazel Tov To Renee
Mazel Tov to Renee on the birth of her new granddaughter and to her son and daughter-in-law. This is turning out to be a busy week for grandmother's. So many quilts to make!!
New Grandson
I'm happy to say my daughter-in-law and son welcomed in a new baby yesterday. Both Mom and baby are doing well. Me? I'm too busy taking care of the siblings to think straight. So, I'll be a little occupied for awhile.

New Fabric From Budrutz
I'm happy to say I made a quick trip over to Budrutz with Sara and Renee. They have many new fabrics in their store. I came home with some great new flannels.
This was a great flannel panel with matching fabric that I hope to use on the back.
And here are few more that I couldn't go home without.

Thank You
We'd like to give a big thank you to Budrutz for their generous donation of batting for our comfort quilts. This certainly is enough for several quilts that will go to sick children here in Betar Illit. Also, we love the scraps too! They have wonderful new fabrics in. I took advantage of their new flannels and brought some home with me. What a great selection.

Sewing With Silk
Sara started a project using wonderful silk fabric. It turned out to be more difficult than expected. The fabric is so lovely, but for me, too hard to work with. I'm sure she will do a great job. I'm looking forward to seeing it when it's finished.

Avigail's New Quilt
Avigail has started the "Yellow Brick Road" quilt and once again it isn't in yellow. It really doesn't matter what colors are used for this pattern. It always turns out so cute. She has just started to cut out the pieces. We'll have to follow this along to see the progress over the coming weeks.
